Map quest says 1.6 miles by car and 1.9 miles walking

And it's a huge construction zone now for the Mardi Gras terminal 3

 

 

In reality you can get just as close to the ships at Rusty's or the upper level of Fish Lips as you can from Jetty Park.

 

Grills is a problem because of the boats that dock in front of it. But they have the best food. 

 

If anyone is set on going to the Jetty, you can get a free view from the public bost ramp just a little to the west
