Of course, how current that info may be is questionable. So, you'd need to call the MTA to verify info about that "shuttle" (which almost sounds too good to be true). As for the alternative subway/walk/bus/walk route, don't be "pennywise and pound foolish." Take a taxi or Uber, which will probably be $50+\-.

Wow...I'd like to know how that app came up with that garbage. It's beyond "too good to be true"...I'm not sure I can come up with words that adequately convey how crazy that is.

 

As you said, taxi, Uber, or car service such as Carmel Limo...all likely in the $50 -$60 range including tolls and tip.

Depends on how much luggage you have.  Take the subway down to Wall St., and the ferry to Red Hook.  Folks on the East Coast Departures board can help you out more...

For a differential cost equal to a couple of cocktails, take an Uber or a car service.

If you really are looking for an economical way, then find your way to either 34th St & the East River or Wall St and the river, then catch one of the ferries for $2.75. But not only is it inexpensive, it's really fun, and approaching the ship by water is tremendous.

Why not the ferry?  That is what we are going to do.  We only have carry on, but last time we were in red hook, we saw the ferry and it is feet away from the ship.  Do tell why not using it.

you could cab or Uber to 34th St and have a nice cruise down the river instead of a surface ride through all the traffic.

We taxi’d from Penn Station on a Sunday morning and I think fare with tip was about $25.
