allure- iMessage hole? Royal Iq messaging

Sorry to ask something that comes up all the time but the most recent thread I could find was over a year old

 

if I want to stay in touch with other passengers on allure the iq messaging (for $8 per user per week) work?  Or if we all have iPhones can we use the I-messaging feature bypass without zoom

 

we all want to disconnect from home but it would be nice to na able to touch base with each other.

Nope, Allure never had the Royal IQ app, so does not have the iMessage (and other) firewall hole(s).

 

However, the RCI App (free) does work on Allure.

The free text/chat function of the RCI app works on Allure.

Same question, but for Harmony. The Royal app says I can chat with linked guests "while viewing your current reservations and connected to ship's wifi".

 

What precisely does that mean?

The chat function of the RCI App also works on Harmony.

You need to keep app open and check it to get the text, many have reported that it doesn’t provide a notification.

Nope.  You only need to pay if you also want internet access.
