Port Valet

Just wanted to say if you are on the fence about trying the port valet service, we used it yesterday on our cruise from Seattle to Alaska.  All bags made it to our home airport, no problems, and it was great to not have to worry about the luggage the entire time! Very pleased and love this new service from Carnival.

Just so that no one gets confused and goes to look for this service in a different port, Port Valet is a service provided by the Port of Seattle, not Carnival.

Yes, thank you for that.  They did say it was exclusive to Seattle but a free service from Carnival

The free service at Seattle Pier 66 and Pier 91 is from the Port of Seattle, not the individual cruise lines. Individual cruise lines decide whether to participate (and they all do).  I only point this out as a proud Puget Sounder who wants to give credit where credit is due.  The Port of Seattle employee team that conceived and implemented the Port Valet luggage program were honored for their innovative program.

Thank you CruizinKittie40 for giving Port Valet a shout-out!

How is check in done on the ship?  Do you go to guest services?

Well our sailing was the first to have the option to do that, so they were really pushing it.  We were given paperwork I think about 3 nights before the end of the cruise to choose either regular valet or port valet for our luggage.

Used this yesterday from Seattle to our home base in Oklahoma CIty.  Fantastic deal!  Put our bags out as usual the night before departure and the next time we saw them was at the baggage claim in Oklahoma City (even were the first off the plane!).  I was a bit concerned about this program, but it was the best ever - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

We were on Holland America and we got the forms to fill out early in the cruise.  A day prior to disembarkation we got an acceptence notice and some instructions.  Then between 6-9 PM the evening before departure we got the tags and final details.

Very easy and so much nicer than the usual way.
