widdis Posted August 29, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 29, 2019 Hi all! Considering a last minute cruise aboard the Sun to the Bahamas in November. My boys, ages 15 and 12, would go with us. I've reviewed the ship plans and things to do aboard. We've only sailed once prior and we had a large group with many kids, so everyone was busy the entire time. My question...how is shiplife if you have teenagers on a 5 day trip?
Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted August 29, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 29, 2019 I was on the Sun at the beginning of August. We saw some children (likely 10 or younger) and they seemed to be entertained. There is a video arcade that was hopping several times that we passed by but I will say that the draw is mainly for those 18+...really 21+ for those cruising for the drinks package. The Sun is a small ship and offers far fewer entertainment options but your destination will likely make up for that since you are going to the Bahamas. If your children don't require a lot of extra entertainment (race track, climbing wall, water slide), then I think they will enjoy the pool area and the basketball court. tallnthensome Posted August 29, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 29, 2019 (edited) We just left the Sun from a 5 day 15 minutes ago. It is not a ship I would prefer to sail with teens. We were with our 9 and 12 year olds . Besides port day tours and the pools there isn’t much to do. It is lacking entertainment . Great overall cruise but onboard entertainment is lacking . But thank you for this review.

They were always busy and finding a ball was difficult many times as the same people were in there with them all the time it seemed. Your cruise could be different:
sun_lovin!1 Posted August 29, 2019 #6 Share Posted August 29, 2019 I had my 11 year old grandson on my last cruise. He would have stayed on the BBall court 24/7 if he could have. There was never a time that we were up there that he couldn't jump into a game that was going on.
