marchanxiety Posted August 30, 2019 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2019 Are mosquitoes a big problem on daytime shore excursions and outdoors on the ship in the evenings? I am mosquito bait and I've heard that they are especially bad in January and February, which is when we are thinking of going.
oakridger Posted August 31, 2019 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2019 Last March in Moorea at the archeological site coming back from Belvedere Lookout I became a mosquito feast within 5 minutes! (left the repellant on the ship😏) I had NO problems on the ship or at the beaches though. ~Nancy
Tahitianbigkahuna Posted August 31, 2019 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2019 On the ship no problem At most major resorts .... no problem Go out into the interior on an excursion ... likely a problem so bring something for it. Try the local stuff .... Monoi Anti Moustique a la citronnelle prevents against mosquito bites. Contains Monoi Tiare oil and citronella. It has a great fragrance and keeps the mosquitos away the natural way. or the tried and true Buggspray from Minnesota where the state bird is the mosquito 😉
Wendy The Wanderer Posted August 31, 2019 #4 Share Posted August 31, 2019 Norma daytime, not a problem at all (and I'm a magnet.) Only in places like those mentioned above, in the woods or jungle, and perhaps at dusk if you're on land. On the ship, not at all.
