Rare graphicguy Posted September 30, 2019 Author #76 Share Posted September 30, 2019 OK...way out of whack on my chronology (something I’ll probably continue to do). We’ve had a slider, and a FDD. Cabin isn’t quite ready, so let’s explore. I LOVE The Waterfront. It’s my favorite NCL feature. Bars, dining al fresco, relaxation areas, all overlooking the water. Let’s go!

Rare graphicguy Posted September 30, 2019 Author #79 Share Posted September 30, 2019 Time For Safety drill....why is it that some believe they are too busy, too good, too important to follow the simple instructions and show up on time? Two young girls (20s maybe?) decided they were going to sit where they wanted, show up when they wanted, do what they wanted, leave when they wanted, use their phone when explicitly being instructed not to, several times! This guy put a stop to that by calling them out! They huffed and snapped, but they did exactly as they were instructed after the safety meeting director jumped into their “stuff”! Not posting their pic. But, y’all know the type! It’s mandatory. It’s simple! Everyone has to do it! Drama much?

Rare graphicguy Posted September 30, 2019 Author #81 Share Posted September 30, 2019 Safety drill over....heading back to the Haven bar before headed to my Suite. Got one of these (aside from bourbon and Cherry wood smoke as ingredients, I have no idea what else is in it). It was DELICIOUS!

Rare graphicguy Posted October 1, 2019 Author #85 Share Posted October 1, 2019 Bowen, our concierge, said I could drop off my roll aboard and backpack in the cabin before the Suite was ready, which I did. That was around 11:30. Bu 12:30, my Haven Spa Suite was ready. BTW.....the bed is supremely comfortable!

Rare graphicguy Posted October 1, 2019 Author #90 Share Posted October 1, 2019 A little out of order, this is the view aft from Cagney’s..... These little windows view to the water, under your feet on The WaterFront are interesting...
PortFees45 Posted October 1, 2019 #91 Share Posted October 1, 2019 You must be paying a pretty healthy supplement to go solo in a Haven room.

PortFees45 Posted October 1, 2019 #94 Share Posted October 1, 2019 Why are you eating in the MDR instead of the Haven restaurant?
Rare graphicguy Posted October 1, 2019 Author #95 Share Posted October 1, 2019 Thanks all for the well wishes. I appreciate them. To answer some questions, sailing the Breakaway Haven Spa Suite would have cost ME the same whether I sailed with a girlfriend or my son. My fare is just about the same as it would have been for a Royal Jr Suite, a Celebrity Veranda cabin or an MSC Interior YC Suite. With NCL, I got all the perks. With the others, I either didn’t get any, or just a few perks. I was tempted by the Carnival Vista Havana Suite (who is docked in Roatan with us right now), as it would have been around a $1,000 less expensive than my Haven Suite. But, by the time you add in the drinks, specialty dining, etc, it wasn’t such a great deal. Regarding MDR meals, I haven’t eaten in the MDRs (yet). But, @RedwingHockeyFan asked if I could find and post them. I’ll do what I can, as I can! I think that covers the bases!

And then, took a nightcap with me to mu balcony. Neither are things that I actually needed to do. But, I’m not driving! Rare All-ready2cruise Posted October 1, 2019 #97 Share Posted October 1, 2019 GG, you're so patient, thanks for explaining your point of view and also sharing requested info. I feel the same about the staterooms I choose to cruise in. At some point I may decide to choose an inside, but, for now, I'll stick with the GTY balcony and take all the perks I can get. Continue to enjoy your cruise. Cheers 🍸, here's to you and I"ll 'er meself, sláinte
Rare graphicguy Posted October 2, 2019 Author #98 Share Posted October 2, 2019 By this time, it was time for sail away! You have some choices for this. Get pushed and shoved around on the upper decks. Or, see it from my favorite vantage points, The WaterFront (again). Grab a drink at one of the bars and hang at the railing..... I would never have complained if I didn’t know better, but the Waterfront would be so much nicer with those life boats tucked away.
