zitsky Posted September 18, 2019 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2019 I canceled one excursion on 9/16 and booked another. The payment shows on my card but not the credit. Is this typical for Viking (Ocean) and do I need to wait a few weeks to get the credit?
Rare CCWineLover Posted September 18, 2019 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2019 In the past it has taken roughly 2-3 weeks for me to have the credit show up on an excursion cancel. For a cruise deposit refund of $800 (cancel and rebook to get a better price), just recently, the refund showed up in less than 2 weeks. I would imagine everyone has a slightly different experience, but who knows?

At least according to anecdotal evidence from our TA when comparing Viking refund processing to that of other cruise lines.
ropomo Posted September 18, 2019 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2019 Viking's stated policy (when speaking with customer reps) is 21 days. YMMV

YMMV Viking playing the float aggressively in the digital commerce economy.

LeRenardrouge Posted October 5, 2019 #7 Share Posted October 5, 2019 When we had a port cancelled for weather, our credit card was immediately credited for the optional excursion we had booked and missed. So it looks like it depends on who does the cancelling. On one river cruise (Elbe) which we cancelled one day before flying out when we received notification the ships would not move, we had the full credited amount in 24 hours back in our bank account since we had used e-check rather than credit card.
