Debarking Port Everglades - flight out of FLL

We have a flight out of FLL at 2:25 and ship is supposed to arrive in Port Everglades very early.  Trying to decide if we should rent a car for the day or just drop bags at the airport and take an uber somewhere to kill time and go back around noon. Thoughts?

As far as dropping bags off I don’t think you can check bags in until 3 or 4 hours prior to your flight.  I am sure someone has more recent facts on this though.

Disembark last. Head over to the airport and store your bags with Bags 2 go.  Then Uber somewhere to hang out. Maybe Bos Beach or Las Olas, or Hollywood Beach.  Hang out for a bit then Uber back to the airport. 

 

Can also hop on the water taxi and cruise around.  Can obviously grab an Uber from any of their stops back to the airport as well.

Or you could use your cruise lines program for shipping bags, frequently called something like " Luggage Direct", then you have time for the water taxi, or whatever else you decide on. Discussed here frequently. 

 

Or, you could look into your cruise lines excursions,  which might work for your time line, and your bags would be on the bus with you. Also discussed here frequently.
