Jan_In_Maine Posted November 1, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2019 I need recommendations ... we will be in Boston (near Quincy Market/Faneuil Hall) the Thursday night 11/7/19 before our cruise ... Today I found out that our North End Boston food tour was canceled. I am looking for a place to have a very late lunch ... way too early dinner (about 3-4 pm) ... we will have a late dessert/wine dinner at the hotel ... before zoning out to the tv ... I'm not looking for really expensive, but somewhere interesting that we can walk to (no more than 1 to 1 & 1/2 miles away). Pub style restaurant would be nice. Doesn't have to be seafood (we live in Maine) although I love Maine shrimp and crab (dh adores lobster) I do really love good Italian food. We did a north end tour before and had a lovely lunch (can't remember the restaurant and have visited Mike's & Modern's) Anyone have a go to place? Thanks for any ideas. I had the food tour booked since the beginning of June ... so re-looking at restaurants can be overwhelming. Thanks again, Jan
1025cruise Posted November 1, 2019 #2 Share Posted November 1, 2019 If you are near the market, there are plenty of restaurants in the market that are decent. For an unique experience, I would have suggested Durgin Park, but alas, it closed earlier this year.
chengkp75 Posted November 2, 2019 #3 Share Posted November 2, 2019 Fiore is a great Italian place in the North End, with a wonderful roof deck if the weather is nice. Oops, see you are going this week, would be a bit cold. Still recommend the menu.

Traveling Library Posted November 5, 2019 #6 Share Posted November 5, 2019 Did the now cancelled tour list the restaurants you would be going to in the North End? If so could go on your own? The North End is steps away from Quincy Market. I've eaten at Lucca which was very nice. My favorite seafood place is the Barking Crab. A walk down the Rose Kennedy Greenway, though maybe farther than you want to go. Here is a link to Boston Restaurant Week. This isn't going on right now but you can search by neighborhood which you might find helpful. http://www.restaurantweekboston.com/?neighborhood=north-end&cuisine=all Where ever you go enjoy!
