cleveik Posted November 3, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 3, 2019 Are you required to pre pay for shore excursions on diamond princess in Japan? I have heard conflicting things from different people.
katisdale Posted November 3, 2019 #2 Share Posted November 3, 2019 You are required to pre-pay on all Princess cruises in my experience.
Expat Cruise Posted November 3, 2019 #3 Share Posted November 3, 2019 If you want to book before you are on the cruise yes. But once on the cruise you can book anytime if space open.
Aus Traveller Posted November 3, 2019 #4 Share Posted November 3, 2019 If you don't pre-book and pay, you might miss out on a tour you really want to do.
franktown Posted November 3, 2019 #5 Share Posted November 3, 2019 If you change your mind you can cancel the excursion and your money will be refunded or credited to your on board account. Read Princess cancellation policy.
riffatsea Posted November 3, 2019 #6 Share Posted November 3, 2019 IF you book an excursion before the cruise you will have to pay for it right then. You can use OBC to pay if you have some.
joll Posted November 3, 2019 #7 Share Posted November 3, 2019 In May 2019, we sailed on the Diamond Princess from Kobe to other Japanese ports, South Korea and Taiwan and when I booked tours prior to sailing we had the option of paying immediately or later onboard. (Booking was made in Australia and I opted for later when we could use OBC.) At the time, it appeared this procedure may have only related to Japanese sailings and was therefore an exception to the Princess Policy of having to pay for tours when booked. At the completion of our cruise we received an additional receipt (account) from Carnival Japan Inc. for all our tours and shuttles. If you are booked on a similar cruise, go to the tour reservation section in your Cruise Personaliser and make a 'dummy' booking to see if this option is still available. It was clearly stated at the bottom of the page earlier this year when we booked!
