Mariner of the seas junior suites

I am new to Royal and considering booking a junior suite in one of the “hump” cabins on the mariner of the seas.  I have a couple of questions .  First, I have noticed that the “hump” junior suite cabins are a different category than the other JS cabins on deck 9, therefore a little cheaper.  I have read that the hump cabins are very popular and was wondering why.  Also I was wondering about the noise since these cabins are so close to the elevators.  I am particularly looking at cabin 9628.  Any information regarding these cabins would be appreciated .

There is no noise issuefrom the elevator lobby with those staterooms.

 

They are popular because of their convenient location to the elevators and the more dramatic view from the balcony as they extend out from the hull.

All royal ships I've been on the elevators have no noise issue. Carnival ships good grief yes.

We were in this cabin two weeks ago. Nice size balcony and just two floors below pool deck and windjammer. No noise at all from the elevators. They are actually around the bend a bit from the hall..  First time on the Mariner and we enjoyed it.

We were in 9618 (outermost hump) in July... Loved it... No Noise problems.

We are on 9318 center hump next cruise on Mariner . Great locations and have three in same area on Indy booked. Nancy  & Bob

We always choose staterooms right opposite the elevator/stairs, no noise at all.

Agree, I do not notice noise in these areas either.

Wow, I have not had that experience on a CCL ship. Granted I tend to stay towards the aft elevator bank, and since there are three banks vs. two on RCI, the crowds seem to dissipate a bit better.

We stayed at the forward bank and the design seems to open with bands below that funnel the sound right up
