fin Posted November 23, 2019 #1 Share Posted November 23, 2019 Just watched Oasis of the Seas sail out of Ft Lauderdale (afternoon, Saturday Nov 23, 2019. From the web camera, it appeared to have no passengers, only crew. Destination shown is nearby Miami. Is there a back story to this?

The PVSA does not allow foreign-flagged ships to transport revenue passengers between US ports when those ports are the origination and destination unless there's a visit to a distant foreign port. This is one reason most US-originating cruises are closed-loop (same port to start and end).
fin Posted November 25, 2019 Author #9 Share Posted November 25, 2019 Thanks to all. It was certainly a strange sight to see, with ll the empty balconies and railings. First time I ever saw such.
