Indulgence package VS LCV discoverer plus

Hell,

We are cruising next April on Azamara and are looking at the benefit of the indulgence package. Since we are LCV Discoverer plus we are wondering if it is worth it or if it's better for us to take the 20% off a bev package, just enjoy what the LCV discounts gives us (laundry, limited wi fi, etc...) and pay for the extras (chef's table, etc.). Anyone did the math? Is it worth it?

Thank you in advance,

For our maths, not taking the package was better as we do not find the land discoveries the best value and are not enamoured of the spa.  We are Platinum, but the difference in benefits is small

One factor to consider is the length of the cruise. The packages are the same price no matter what the cruise length is. Therefore you would need to do the math on the cost of drinks package and full WiFi access, which on a longer cruise may be costly without a package.

Just to add, we are on a 15 nights voyage.

I put my DH to the challenge of comparing both... results will be out soon (or so I think!)...

thanks for the replies so far,

On our recent cruise we were undecided whether to buy the indulgence pkg or not.  We procrastinated long enough and didn’t book it.  We were fine without it.  We are discoverer plus. We didn’t use half of our free WiFi minutes. The included drinks were ok. The wines were so so. Buy a better bottle.  Prefer drinking sparkling water.  The laundry limit was of one small bag was a real disappointment.  We were on a 10 day cruise.  As elite plus on Celebrity, we get 4 bags of free laundry. The laundry room was not accessible. Sending out the laundry isn’t very expensive.  We used our OBC from our TA to book some excursions.  If you add up how much we spent on extras, we came out way ahead by not buying the package. For us, the indulgence pkg would have been a mistake.

Hello,

we did the math. We looked at the excursion and we do plan to take all 700$ worth of shore excursions and I plan to take the spa credit. So we are going all in with the package (especially since we discovered that Nicolas Feuillates champagne was on the list 🙂 ). For wifi, we usually spend all our wifi credits onboard X (and it's half of it on AZ) and for the chef's table, we were going to take it. So all in all, it will be worth it for us. So we think....

We will let you know when we come back in April,

vana:  We've been doing the same calculations for our 17 day Dubai-Athens cruise in March.  The key for us is determining whether we will use the excursion credits.  Like you, we will likely use up our WiFi minutes, esp. with 7 days at sea on cruise.  We will also do the Chef's Table, and there will be no problem consuming the Spa credit!  Our conclusion is that we will likely buy the Indulgence for the first leg of our b2b (17 days) but pass on the second leg (9 days)--it still seems strange its the same price for each leg.  The second cruise is more port intensive, and we already have private tours booked for all the destinations.

We will also report back whether we found it a good value.

We are travelling with Az in April on a 15 night cruise too. We did the maths and  decided to book the package as we will make full use the wi fi,  spa credits and have already booked over $700 of shore excursions. Nice to know there is a decent champagne as we have’t really looked at the alcohol offerings except for a decent malt.

 Hello,

Don't drink all the Champagne and leave us some because I just realized that we are on the same cruise!! We are going to be easy to spot... going Nicolas Feuillates's champagne all the way....:-)
