Depends.  If you purchase a plan before final payment then it will pay for any loss (assuming it's a covered event).  So sure, you'd get your $100 back.  But probably not the future cruise credit (not sure how that'd work).  People who need pre-existing condition waivers have to purchase 7-14 days after first deposit.  So if that's the case, it would cover the deposit lost.  But again, the OP hasn't said anything about insurance.

You said the whole deposit would be lost. Not why that would not be the case in any circumstance except for yours.

Only a small fraction of deposits are made on the ship
