PekingeseLady Posted January 1, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2020 Do they still sell cigarettes on board? I think last year you could only buy 1 carton each and you couldn't take it to your room. You could buy them from the bars and fun shop and the bars were 1 or 2 dollars cheaper then the fun shop. Is this still how it works on Carnival? wesorbeth Posted January 1, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2020 I bought 2 cartons for my mom in the fun shop, they didn't keep them.
Rare Banditswife Posted January 1, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2020 we usually buy cigarettes from the fun shops. No, they do NOT keep them. There is no smoking allowed in the cabins, but you are allowed to smoke them in the designated smoking areas. In Nov of 2019 we bought 3 cartons & got the 4th for free. Not sure if this special is still going on. If I remember correctly, ea carton was $42 X 3 = $126, making them about $32 per carton considering the 4th carton was free. This was for Marlboro & other major brands. If I am not mistaken, you are allowed to bring up to 2 cartons home per person without a customs tax. PekingeseLady Posted January 1, 2020 Author #4 Share Posted January 1, 2020 Thank you. I'm sailing on the Panorama Saturday. I roll my own at home so I don't want to buy a carton, WOW, expensive, lol This way I can just buy one pack to get me through.
Rare Banditswife Posted January 1, 2020 #5 Share Posted January 1, 2020 (edited) If you roll your own at home, why not just do that on the ship as well. And for me, $32 per carton is cheap. I pay close to $50 per carton at home. Edited January 1, 2020 by Banditswife

If you want to get a decent price get away from the terminal.
Bases5 Posted January 1, 2020 #7 Share Posted January 1, 2020 They do sell single packs. I know the casino bar has them, Very limited choices, They are like $6 or $7 per pack I pay around $70 per carton with tax so $32 is very cheap.

I found that an interesting comment but am a non-smoker so it doesnt really matter to me. Have you ever heard this? He stated specifically Cozumel. PekingeseLady Posted January 2, 2020 Author #11 Share Posted January 2, 2020 Thank you everyone. And I wouldn't dream of smoking in the cabin. Even if it was allowed. A balcony I would, but now I save a ton of money because we sail Inside cabin instead ever since they stopped smoking on the balcony.
