Best night of the cruise to dine at the Steakhouse

Recommended Posts

We love the steakhouse on the Miracle - that glass staircase is always fun.  We have a tradition of eating at the steakhouse on the 1st and last night of every cruise.  It starts and ends our vacation mode.  On the first night, there is a free bottle of house wine per table or you can get a discount on a different type instead.  We don't drink wine, so that's not it for us, we just enjoy the atmosphere.

Hi everybody. Just wondering what is the best night to dine at Nick & Nora’s Steakhouse on the Miracle? Are there any advantages to certain nights over other nights? Thanks in advance!

It's the same any night you go.they give you a free bottle the first night of wine .we did it twice during same cruise.first time was much better than the second time we went later in the week..

You WILL have to ask your waiter about the bottle of wine.  They won't automatically offer it to you when you show up for your reservation.  Last year on Freedom, we booked Steakhouse for the first night.  The waiter came to get our drink order and mentioned nothing about the bottle of wine.  We had to ask him about it.  He almost acted like he knew nothing about it, and we simply jogged his memory.  Oh, that wine!  It will be one of their cheapest bottles.  You don't get to choose whatever you want.  They will simply ask if you want red or white.

First night and sometimes the second night. You are offered a FREE bottle of wine. White or red. You are able to taste before accepting either one. You are also offered 50% off any bottle you wish to purchase if you do not like theirs. The steaks are excellent. The give yo a lot. All is excellent. As for the wine. The server may not know as it was in our case.

Same with us on the Magic.

First night if elegant night is night #2 on your cruise. The menu the first night is often not memorable in the MDR. As long as you don't have any issues to straighten out in MDR on the first night (like table assignment/switching, etc). Especially good to go on first night if you have YTD anyway.

In regards to Carnival, we prefer the 2nd elegant/formal evening later in the sailing for the steakhouse when sailing Carnival. If you're not interested in complimentary cheap wine or 50% off a bottle of wine, skip the 1st & 2nd evenings; they're for rookies and 1st time cruisers.

Since we don't drink, we take the bottle unopened and give it to our cabin steward.     They love it.

Oh...and the best night to dine.....is the night YOU CHOOSE!   It will be a dining treat.
