By The Bay Posted January 13, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 13, 2020 From Princess FAQ's: "However, on select Australian-based itineraries, the onboard currency is in Australian dollars".

With the slot machines, using your cruise card, you put money from your on-board account onto your gambling account. It is all electronic.
Rare MicCanberra Posted January 14, 2020 #7 Share Posted January 14, 2020 It depends on what you play in the casino. I know one game that takes quarters ($0.25 USD).

I am not an expert on the casinos, but do the Australian-based Princess ships have a game in the casino that takes US coins? (The original question was about Princess ships, presumably in Australia because that is where the question was posted.)

I would assume the Sun and Sea Princess would accept aussie coins or tokens.
Jintymac Posted January 15, 2020 Author #13 Share Posted January 15, 2020 Thanks, we are going on the Ruby and then the Majestic and have USD cash left from another trip so just wondered if we could use them in the casino, but I suppose we can just exchange them for AUD when we get onboard if needbe. You are likely to be able to but the ship's exchange rate is likely to be poor at best. Perhaps save it for another trip or use it for tips on the ship.
