Currently on the 15 day Panama Cruise from Fort Lauderdale to LA. Seems to be several changes - captain, restaurant director, cruise director and assistant.. Attached photo of current officer listing. I think cruise director (British fellow) may be new this week as not included in photo, but from his Linked In page, he seems to be a veteran of Princess, HAL and Celebrity. His assistant Shelle is a very personable Malaysian with a great sense of humor, at least from what we have seen from her Wake Show and game show emcee duties.

Shell is great fun!  Shell was on Discovery inaugural season with her partner Jun not July, also from Malaysia.

Malaysia

Yes, she is very telegenic (on the Wake Show) and plays off JC’s leading questions/comments perfectly, with some hilarious “accidental” put-downs and “whatever” responses. Saw her host one of those “newlywed type” games and she definitely was quick witted and entertaining.

Sounds like you have a fun entertainment staff!

any thoughts on why very popular captains like Tuvo and others are choosing to leave Princess for other lines?  Is Princess not competitive with benefits and pay?

We heard directly from a Captain that MSC specifically has higher pay.

Makes sense and I bet benefits are better too.  There was another one of the more popular captains that left too but can't remember the name. Reports are that Princess in general has one of the more severe staffing issues whereas people sailing on Celebrity and some other lines feel they seem fully staffed. Again I assume pay and benefits are involved. Princess seems to be raising prices...reducing perks for repeat cruisers and in general losing market share. Shame as it was once a much sough after line.

So glad we were able to sail with Captain Tuvo on the Sky Princess on the Christmas 2019 cruise!

We just got off the Island Princess on Dec. 12 and we had a NEW Cruise Director named Cole who was fantastic, fun, and energetic. He used to be a Princess dancer. Looking forward to seeing more of him in future sailings!

Captain Dino also went to MSC Cruises before Captain Bye Bye went to MSC.

Just off the Emerald Princess. We had a very enjoyable Panama Canal Cruise, going through the new locks. When departing the ship, noted that a holiday oriented officer listing appeared for the cruise that commenced today 12/18/22. New captain and cruise director, updated above. She’ll indicated that she was staying on - great resource. Bon voyage!

He so deserves it! I believe he was on the inaugural cruise.  Any clue who might be his replacement?

We asked him a couple weeks ago. Corinne was supposed to transfer from Royal to Discovery, but he was unsure if that would still happen.  He's had only one break since February, that's when he joined in Cyprus. Marcus filled in for him then.

Happy to see promotion for Lauren!

We just got off of Ruby and Lauren said she was a bit overwhelmed. She said, "I don't know what I'm doing!" She was absolutely great. We've sailed with her before and she was always great. We were surprised but very happy to see her onboard and she was much more visible and engaged than any previous ED we have sailed with before. Overall, there was a vastly increased "officer visibility" than on any previous Princess cruise we have taken.
