In a bid to try and improve the way we source the names in this table, I have also reformatted the information on the table. I have added hyperlinks (they appear in blue) to as much of the information as possible from the contributions that users have shared here on CC and from our collective gleaning from social media. This will always be a work in progress due to the unpredictable nature of ship transfers, as well as the sporadic nature of updates we have here on CC.

 

I have also removed all “relief” officers from all roles other than captain (unless otherwise noted). Most of all, information legibility was a top concern of mine. Additionally, as mentioned before, non-bridge officers can be moved from ship to ship without much pattern, and there are no guarantees that a non-bridge officer on leave will return to their most recent ship (unless otherwise specifically noted in the CC submission or directly from the officers themselves).

Are you taking on ownership of this now as I daresay that keeping up hyperlinks will be a big job?

Personally, I'd rather see correct ship names. At some point in the past, someone removed Princess from every ship name. Under maritime law, ship names are very specific. For instance, the new ship coming is Sun Princess, not Sun, not The Sun, definitely not Princess Sun, and not even The Sun Princess (a case I read about years ago ruled that merely adding The to the old name of a ship met a contractual requirement to rename the ship).

It's space-saving for the table/chart.  We all know the correct name.  I don't see a problem with the short-form choice.  Maybe we should use the two character ship code and really confuse folks.

I am! I believe that this format can be better for the generic average CC user who stumbles upon the table. I'll welcome additional feedback from others. CC thrives off of community support so I hope we can keep receiving user contributions, which will make this table even more complete.

Considering how many people post and refer to a ship as Princess Whatever rather than Whatever Princess, I think a lot of people don’t know the correct names of the ships. Abbreviating them by leaving off Princess on this table just adds to people not knowing the correct names.

I don't see that happen much at all.  A disclaimer statement could be placed at the top of the table noting that actual ship names are XXXX PRINCESS and shortened in column 1 for convenience.

Still trying to remember the name of the ED on Grand. I think it may have been Tim but can't come up with a last name. He had a short-trimmed beard and was a nice guy. Wish I had made a note of his name. I'm a bit surprised that nobody currently sailing or recently sailed on the ship has come forth with the information.

Tim Donovan? Probably not, since he is back and forth on Ruby. Only Tim I know.

bout Matts - I've had a Thompson, O'Brien, and Bernard throught he years. That's all I know there too lol

No, not losing sleep but it does annoy me. I spoke with the man several times and he was quite cordial and easy to talk with. I have a picture of the staff poster but it was from just after he boarded and still showed the previous ED. (She was also really nice and easy to speak with.) Somehow, when you are on the ship for a bit over 2 months, the crew kind of accept you as "almost" one of them. There were a number of crew members who made our time onboard special and we actually miss a number of them. While in line outside the ship we both got big hugs from one of the CD staff (Laura from Argentina who's contract was up the same day we disembarked) who was a really sweet girl. (I know she likely doesn't think of herself as a "girl" and is actually a young woman but we're old... I still say she was sweet.)
