Rare CineGraphic Posted February 14, 2020 Author #27 Share Posted February 14, 2020 It's time to take our Wheaten Terrier, Woodley to the dog sitters, and then it's one more sleepless night until we board. The band, Three Dog Night says, "One is the loneliest number", but when it comes to cruise countdowns, it's my favorite number.

Rare CineGraphic Posted February 15, 2020 Author #29 Share Posted February 15, 2020 (edited) 1 mile from the Atlanta airport and we had to suddenly swerve to avoid a multi-car accident which happened just moments earlier. The adrenaline rush had us both sweating bullets, but we made it safely to the airport. Wishing everyone safe travels. zahav1 Posted February 15, 2020 #30 Share Posted February 15, 2020 Just getting off the Crown. After 17 cruises with Princess this was the most disappointing one. Besides the speed issues, one missed port and three short ports, the service has not been great. I think the staff relies too much on passengers to use the medallion to order anything, especially drinks at all the bars. Often you can sit for a long time till a bar waiter comes to take your order. I felt as though the wait staff was not always available at the Horizon Court. Sometimes I just got my own things as utensils if the table was out of them. The weather was great but the seas were choppy for most of the days. CruiseVA Posted February 15, 2020 #37 Share Posted February 15, 2020 Bon Voyage. We loved the Crown, took her on our Med Cruise awhile ago. May the weather be fair & the generator be sparking! CineGraphic, we're going to need to co-ordinate a cruise sometime, otherwise you'll never see that free drink. I hope a lot of folks onboard do some posting! Adios!
Rare CineGraphic Posted February 16, 2020 Author #38 Share Posted February 16, 2020 The seas have been a fun roller coaster ride, or it may be the cocktails and wine.Sail away was a wash-out. We visited cubes before heading to the Crown Grill for dinner. Service and food were both great. I had the lamb, and Pam enjoyed her filet. We were pleasantly surprised to see our favorite food and beverage supervisor, Mirella, on the Lido Deck. She just boarded the ship yesterday. This is going to be a great cruise no matter what! Rare CineGraphic Posted February 17, 2020 Author #40 Share Posted February 17, 2020 Just now, while sitting in Cafe Caribe, I told my wife that I smelled something electrical burning. A few minutes later an announcement from the bridge alerted to an issue in Horizon Court and the fire doors closed. Within seconds there were several officers and then a “stand down” announce the was made from the bridge. Crew members have now pulled down some of the ceiling panels. Everyone remained calm, so to the point of being oblivious. Several people could understand why they were briefly being denied entry into the buffet. On another note, the water was much calmer today.

Rare CineGraphic Posted February 17, 2020 Author #42 Share Posted February 17, 2020 This is the machine we’ll be feeding for our slot pull at 3pm. It’s on the port side across from “Gatsby’s”, the casino bar. Everyone will get 5 spins at $4 per spin. Hopefully, the slot gods will see that more comes out of the machine than goes in. No notification yet about missing any ports or itinerary time changes, although I am expecting it. Good evening. I’m on the Crown now as well with my husband for our second round of two. On the last voyage, we did the ultimate ship tour on the last sea day. One of our stops on the tour was the engine room. A very friendly Scottish gent is in command there. (Only a few references to Captain Kirk were mentioned.) We drilled him on the generator issue. He’s had around 27 repair persons onboard since the problem started. They have disassembled and now reassembled the generator. He said they were going to start it up and test it on this voyage. So, we are the guinea pigs so to speak. so far, we don’t think it’s being used as the seas have been rocky and stabilizers out for most of the trip so far. There’s a part of the medallion app that tells us our heading and speed too. We haven’t seen it go above 18knotts so far.

Rare CineGraphic Posted February 19, 2020 Author #50 Share Posted February 19, 2020 It’s a beautiful day in Antiqua. Pam and I are “liming” (chilling) at our favorite spot, Beach Limerz. Gail and her staff really know how to take care of their guests. If you come, don’t expect things to be instantaneous. Relax, and enjoy yourself. We always opt for the all inclusive day pass which includes taxi pick-up and drop-off at the pier, a few drinks, lunch, loungers and an umbrella.
