phoneman69 Posted February 21, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2020 I received a Carnival E-Gift card from my daughter after doing some work at her home. I had to print it out. My question is can i apply it to my May sailing (all ready fully paid) on line or do i just bring it to the Service desk after we board. I assume the gift card would just be used to reduce our total cruise bill first. Thanks
joepeka Posted February 21, 2020 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2020 (edited) You are correct - you can take the printed out e-Gift card to Guest Services and have it applied to your on board account. I've never tried it with e-Gift cards but you should also be able to use the self serve kiosks on board and likewise have the amount applied to your account. Edit: you're paid in full but anything else pre-cruise that you might want to purchase (internet package, excursions, etc.) can also be paid with the e-Gift card. Thanks Correct-you apply it once on board, either via Guest Services or the kiosk, and it will be used first -after any onboard credits you might have to reduce your total cruise bill. Enjoy your cruise!

Rare PrincessArlena'sDad Posted February 21, 2020 #5 Share Posted February 21, 2020 If you don't want to do it on board you can use it to buy cruise cash.

But with a Carnival e-gift or gift card if the balance left is more than $10, Carnival returns this to you in the form of a new gift card. ….just something to consider..... Yes, that is basically true, though you can bypass that with the casino. But I wanted to mention it as an option if they were sure they'd use it (including for gratuities). pinacoladasatpianobar Posted February 21, 2020 #8 Share Posted February 21, 2020 Yes, you can apply it once you're on board. If you have other things to purchase pre-cruise, though, I suggest doing that. One less thing you need to worry about when you get on the ship. Never know what the total you'll spend on the cruise but don't want to risk it

I think it is all fixed now, but there were issues with them.

crusincouple8 Posted February 23, 2020 #16 Share Posted February 23, 2020 Thank you for the suggestion PrincessArlena'sDad, I had 2 e-gift cards and didn't want to take the extra time to add them to my account once on board. I just purchased cruise cash with them, problem solved.
