Two 2 Tango Posted February 26, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2020 Just come back from Oceana, we had a top grade "HA" balcony nice midships. even though the disco in "La Club" is 2 floors below under the Winners bar they turn up the volume after 12 pm when the act in winners bar has ended. The bass sound can be heard very loud in the cabin and this continues till around 3.30. we asked the officer in reception to come and witness the noise and she agreed it was bad and said she would ask them to turn it down. This reduced the sound for a few minutes and then it was turned up again, this went on three times until we were given an identical cabin on the other side of the ship (after we had been told they have no free cabins but I said we would make a bed in reception). We moved into the new cabin next day (no assistance) and were told they had never had a problem with that cabin before, but with a bit of research on the net they have had lots of issues with not only C528 but also 2 cabins either side. So unless you go to the disco every night I would stay away from these cabins.

We always try to research the cabin location and could be handy for others if you posted this on CC review page as that would be handy for everyone to refer back to for future reference .😊
AndyMichelle Posted February 26, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2020 Sorry to hear that. We had something similar on Oceana in November where we were under the galley and had to put up with constant banging until 3am which started again at 5am. Fortunately for us, they couldn't have handled it better. On our second complaint, despite being told they had no other cabins available, we were visited by the hotel manager and moved immediately, we just packed up and they did the rest. That was more than enough for us, but we received wine, chocolates and an apology. Andy
jeanlyon Posted February 26, 2020 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2020 You have to believe that they always have a few cabins available for emergencies.
eddie11 Posted February 26, 2020 #5 Share Posted February 26, 2020 There was a website - something like yourcruisecabin? which started an excellent database, inviting all cruisers to submit a brief report - basically just a tick list or x/5 click - after each cruise. Iirc it was Brit-focussed, P&O, Cunard and US etc ships which tended to be based here i don’t know if it, or anything much like it, still exist. There are a couple of sites with plenty of cabin photos but they can’t record noise

For research (research, research) purposes which cabin Andy? Our one and only late deal booking was for a Christmas Markets cruise on Arcadia in 2010 where we paid £1100 for the 2 of us (10 nights). It was an unplanned holiday that we were thrilled to take with everything luckily falling into place (price, able to get the time off work etc.). We were then even more delighted to be visited by the upgrade fairy and were moved to G32 which was great for us, just off the atrium down a quiet corridor. What we didn't realise is that this is either above or very near the service hatch so we were rudely woken at around 4:30am on the day we returned to Southampton by never ending bangs and crashes. It was a long drive home North that day!
