PastaNoodle Posted February 26, 2020 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2020 Considering Booking Junior Suite on Ovation to Alaska (July 2021)- round trip from Seattle but can't find an itinerary map. Is one side better to book than the other for viewing? It seems that the JS's on the starboard side are mostly already booked so is that side better? Another question- if I book the JS now with NRD, can I downgrade later to a balcony if need be? (If I need to save some costs). So difficult to choose this far out and NRD makes me nervous! The RD cost is $1000 CAD 😞

Goodtime Cruizin Posted February 26, 2020 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2020 Not sure which side is best... we enjoyed our aft balcony though! It was really nice. As far as the re-booking, if you decide to re-book from a Jr.Ste. to a Balcony, chances are very great that you'll most likely will be re-quired to re-book at the then current price of the balcony, thus not saving any monies. Rare twangster Posted February 26, 2020 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2020 Either side is fine. There will be marine life and scenery on both sides at times. If you really want to maximize Alaska sightseeing you won't even be in your cabin.
fla gang Posted February 26, 2020 #5 Share Posted February 26, 2020 We had a port side balcony and when we were on our way back to Seattle we sat out there and watched whales. Make sure to bring a good pair of binoculars. Mine are Nikon.
fla gang Posted February 26, 2020 #6 Share Posted February 26, 2020 If you are flying into Seattle you will also get to use port valet. They will take your baggage after the cruise, to the airport and you won't handle anything until your final destination. It is also free.
