Carnival stock OBC question

I know we can't use the Carnival stock OBC for gratuties or the casino. Can we use it for the steakhouse or Chef's table if we wait until we're on board to book? TIA

Yep, you can. I think tips and casino are the only exclusions. And I wasn't aware of the casino until your post...probably b/c I have enough charges on my account to cover the shareholder benefit without the casino lol.

Carnival's policy is that Shareholder OBC cannot be used for gratuities.  But many experienced Carnival cruisers have stated that your On Board Credits are all put together as one OBC number, and because of that, that you can use them for gratuities.

Hopefully one or more of these experienced Carnival cruisers will chime in and confirm this.

I've used it for gratuities and casino, so I don't think it has changed.  All my OBC was divided up into refundable and non-refundable.  If you use the casino, all OBC is refundable if you know what you're doing.

We've also in the past used the stockholder OBC for gratuities.  We had $250 OBC on our recent 14-day Journey's cruise.  We had already pre-paid gratuities.  Only get a couple of inexpensive shore excursions.  On the last day after after cashing out my casino bank, I transferred the rest of my OBC into a slot machine, did one spin, and banked the rest.  Then went to casino cage to cash out.

you can't pick and choose what to do with OBC, as you sign and sail your balance will be reduced as charges come in.
