Maybe this is what some are expecting Celebrity do.

Yesterdays announcement by Viking Cruising.....

"This is a situation that can change from day to day, and we can well understand that the decision of whether or not to travel may be weighing on your mind – particularly for those with imminent departures.
In view of this we are for the time being making a temporary exception to our cancellation policy so that you can be free to postpone your cruise at any time up until 24 hours before the planned departure, without incurring any cancellation fees. You will be issued a voucher for future travel valid for 24 months, which can be used on any Viking product (river, ocean or expedition)."

This is how to treat your customers,,,well done Viking.

My bet is that they already know they will re-route to avoid Italy

I’d love to know where you think they may go; which countries will want more cruise ships in the current climate, never mind even having the extra berths for docking. Do we know what’s happened to the ship held in Norway with the suspected positive cases? If confirmed, it will be interesting to see how it differs from the handling of Diamond Princess.

A couple ports that come to mind - Toulon, Nice, Canes or Barcelona.

As for the Aida ship in Norway.... The two suspected passengers that had been in contact with a German that tested positive both tested Negative and the ship has been released.

Good news about it being released. Now let’s just hope the negative tests stay that way 🤞.

It depends if those ports want the ships. France possibly not, especially as it’s banned large gatherings and has also stopped any school trips abroad.

Dont they have like a medical room on board? Cant they isolate the passengers while on board? I mean it might sound weird but I would just leave that german on some nearest shore and say goodby. Why would the crew risk staying in the seas for who knows how long...As long as he got insurance, the insurance company needs to help him evacuate. It must be mandatory
