PtownGirlz-NH Posted March 11, 2020 #26 Share Posted March 11, 2020 So, is the ship half full? Advised by crew 1700 pac No waiting in lines? Not at all No chair hogs? Not at all Plenty of seats available in the theater? We went 20 minutes before sand no issues with seats Everyone doing the “washy washy” routine? Yes and somebody is at buffet wash station to make sure everyone uses soap and washes at lest 20 seconds in hot water before being allowed inside Everyone using hand sanitizer stations? Is it being enforced by crew? See above. Main dining rooms and specialty restaurants have only sanitizer stations, but still enforced. Low turnout and no waiting for us. Everyone covering up, and coughing into arm not in hand, when coughing? No one noticeably coughing, 2 people were wearing masks at fitness center. That’s it. Everyone maintaing recommended social distancing? No one seams too worried. This ship just came from 58 day South America cruise, so not high risk at this point for crew or passengers except for those that boarded with us in Fort Lauderdale. They had health questionnaires and checked passports for affected areas.

We could have gone from inside to balcony for $400. Someone upgraded from outside to balcony for $200. 4 hours ago, Justalone said: No waiting in lines? No not on this ship. No chair hogs? This crowd is older. There are plenty of chairs. The weather has been rougher. Plenty of seats available in the theater? The theater is smaller, filled but seats available. Everyone doing the “washy washy” routine? Not sure in the sink before buffet 100%. Everyone using hand sanitizer stations? Is it being enforced by crew? Only enforced at the buffet. Everyone covering up, and coughing into arm not in hand, when coughing? I haven't seen much coughing but no you are never going to get everyone to do it right 4 hours ago, Justalone said: Everyone maintaing recommended social distancing? How? We are on a cruise ship. My cabin steward said avoid crowds, etc. I said like in the theater? It really isn't possible. Hope you are enjoying your cruise. Safe travels. Yehootu Posted March 12, 2020 #30 Share Posted March 12, 2020 We will be getting on when your cruise ends on the 17th. I hope we will at least. It looks like we are down to 26% occupancy with 2 days left for the Princess cancellation policy to take full effect. If my count is right, 729 cabins are open. I am worried about our cruise being cancelled and would love to know how many cabins are open. What is the cancellation policy? Under 25%?
Yehootu Posted March 12, 2020 #32 Share Posted March 12, 2020 I have no clue as to what the cancellation policy is as to occupancy. I get bored and go to: Plan a Cruise Find my Cruise Go through all the floors and room types ( old website showed whole floor, now you have to click on room type) And do a lot of math. Go to I'll pick a room and it shows open rooms.

Should be ok practicing social distancing and hand washing. No worries about the cards, chips, or slot handles. Last I heard, Covid-19 does not last too long on these objects. Good luck in the casino. And have a great cruise. Edited March 12, 2020 by Justalone

heidikay Posted March 12, 2020 Author #35 Share Posted March 12, 2020 Panama authorities came on took all our temps before we could go on tours today. The first tender left the ship and got sent back. All tours cancelled. Does anyone know if Costa Rica received cruise ships today? We are going there tomorrow. Other than port cancellations, how is the cruise going? Everyone observing social distancing, and using the hand sanitizer stations? Plenty of seats in MDR, theater, trivia, bingo, and art auctions? What is the passenger count? Enjoy your cruise. Edited March 12, 2020 by Justalone

RecliningPanda Posted March 12, 2020 #40 Share Posted March 12, 2020 I’m in New Zealand currently and so far the Nz authorities have asked for forms to be filled out. You are getting served at the buffet but not everything it’s like norovirus rules but at 50%. You still have salt etc on the tables and can help yourself to the cold stuff i guess this may change as we go on. And I expect temperatures to be taken back in sydney. So far no port cancelations. PtownGirlz-NH Posted March 13, 2020 #42 Share Posted March 13, 2020 I know princess is being lauded for their cancellation policy, but I for one booked this Panama Cruise canal as a bucket list dream vacation planned for years. So far we missed Jamaica, couldn’t Disembark in Panama to kayak the canal that we had planned for over a year. And our CostacRica rainforest and wildlife excursion got switched without asking us to a city tour which is not something we wanted, so we canceled that. Very disappointing. Though not their fault, They should compensate us to for such a lackluster cruise because we did not get what we paid for...If not I will concider not cruising with them again

No we are not getting additional at this time. We got an extra $200 onboard credit That was given for not cancelling and announced before we boarded. Yes we have missed a port and couldn't get off in Panama. I pretty much thought it was possible to miss ports based on the situation right now. So I'm not expecting anything right now. Really what could Princess have done? It isn't there fault. 1

PtownGirlz-NH Posted March 15, 2020 #49 Share Posted March 15, 2020 You can be judgemental and say what you want, but this is their business. They sent the cruise off without canceling and we missed 4 of 5 ports. Yes the weather was mostly good and we were lucky enough to have a balcony, but many were not. Just got word off $100 OBC as “good will” per person. Not enough as far as I’m concerned, since we paid more than 5k. Would have appreciated FFC to do FULL cruise itinerary again. We didn’t pay to be on floating hotel. We’ve cruised a dozen times on Princess and expected more. Communication on ship about cancellations at each port came very last minute after we lined up, got our numbers, waited in lines for temperature check, etc. Again, not what we paid for and it’s a business that will lose loyal customers if not treated right.
