What happens to unused OBC?

We are sailing this Saturday and due to huge price drops we have more OBC then we will most likely use or need.  What happens to this?  Is there a way to cash it out?

It depends.  Refundable OBC is refunded to you by check after your cruise.  Non-refundable OBC is lost.  However; you can use the casino trick to cash out.

I lost mine on my first cruise years ago, now, if I have it I make sure get a picture or two, get coffee at the coffee shop, do a little shopping on board, order more NA fruity drinks, and if you have enough, cover your excursions.

take the amount of obc you have and transfer it to your casino account, then go to the window and cash out.

Non refundable obc is always used before refundable obc. If you aren't sure what you have, it's best to ask at guest services. 

 

Obc that comes with a fare code is always non refundable. 

 

Obc from refund of port fees or excursions that they cancel are always refundable.

Did this on the recommendation of the board.  I played a few rounds and was up by $20!!

If you got a refund of cruise fees on an early saver it is refundable because you have already paid it. You can get a check on your return took about two weeks. Got 1500 dollars back. If you have doubt about what kind you have go to guest services and they can tell you.

FYI, do a few pulls on the machine before you cash out.
