Bliss! 3/1-3/8

I read the reviews before we left, and I'm glad we (as usual) ignored them.

There is only one complaint about this ship...it creaks and our cabin "jumped" when the ocean was choppy.  Other than that: perfect!

The buffet was the best one at sea.  The options were limitless.  They had the best salad bar ever, tons of healthy choices.  There were 4 omelet stations in the morning and I never had more than 2 people in front of me, even during peak times.  We never had trouble finding a seat.  If someone "eats healthy" this is the ship for you. They had delicious salmon for dinner twice (I'm a salmon snob). Oh yeah...they also had things for the junk food eaters.  Desserts were abundant and ice cream too.  Lots of breads...lots of cheese.

I enjoyed the shows (although I had seen Jersey Boys on B'way and Off B'way....I can never get enough of the Four Seasons).  "Six" was ok...but I think they could have done a better job with the casting.  I didn't see it on B'way yet, so maybe I'm wrong.  DH liked it more than I did.  Lots of singing around the ship....I liked "the much talked about" Siglo.  There was a special "in the theater" matinee for the country singers (forget the name).

We made all the ports including GSC.  Our weather was excellent during port days.  We only went to the Observation Deck once but it was a nice place to sit.  It was spring break in Montreal so there were loads of French Canadians on board...with lots of French Canadian children.

The slot machines in the casino were better than on other ships.  Lots of "up and downs" (meaning you didn't lose on every spin).  I actually walked away a winner!

One other negative.  We generally walk the stairs but when we took the elevators they were slow.  Maybe the rear elevators were faster?

Please ask in if you have any questions.  I won't be able to comment about drinks or restaurants.

Glad you had a great trip. I sail on the Bliss this coming weekend and I really hope we make GSC, as I really enjoyed my one previous stop there. I've been on the Bliss twice before, so no real questions. Just wanted to say I am happy you liked it!

Were they sanitizing all the common spaces.  Were they keeping people from napping face down in the observation room?

We were only in the observation room once and I didn't notice them waking people up from naps, but I really didn't notice anyone face down.  As far as the common areas, they were running around cleaning a lot.  And you couldn't get into the buffet without "scrubbing for surgery".

Did you eat in any MDRs?  How was the food?

I'm a buffet person, so "no" to eating in the MDR..  We did Cagney's once and La Cucina once....neither are "my thing".  I know, I'm in the tiny minority.  This is why I loved loved loved the buffet....so many healthy options without adding the "extra calorie sugar laden sauces" etc on top of perfectly good food.

Glad you enjoyed your cruise, we were on the Bliss 2/23 to 3/1 and had a great time also, the ship and crew are first class. Except for the 3 yr old in the cabin above us who ran back and forth from 7 to 9 am and the painfully slow or non existent internet we have no complaints.

Our sliding door did creak a little in rough seas but my Wife always packs her Sleep machine white noise maker so it did not bother us

Not so much faster as less crowded. On Bliss I learned quickly to head to the aft elevators at prime times (this worked well on Joy, too). I had lots of solo elevator rides on the aft side, even at dinner time!

Got off the Bliss in NYC on Sunday the 15th had CDC Waiting for us to take our Temps as we walked off. NCL was told day 2 that a 2 year old on the 03/01 sailing tested positive, And then  EVERYTHING Changed. They did not tell Any One on the ship until the 15th a day After we got off. Their was a family quarantine in their room on our floor (10) until they got off in Nassau.

No one could touch any utensils any where on the ship. They made the staff put ketchup on your food for you. YES I said if you wanted Ketchup they put it on for you.

This ship is a Clone of the Breakaway, just bigger there is Nothing about this ship that would make us get back on. Other than the go cart track, the Q ( BBQ ) and los lobo ( Mexican ) Absolutely Nothing worth doing this monstrous ship. They took out Mordurno's and NO One was in the New Los Lobo's their new Mexican restaurant It was a ghost town in their every night. They took out Margaritaville in the middle of the Cruise and put up all the American Diner stuff but Never Opened while we were on.

The Service is Far from What NCL is known for. I believe it's because of the size of the ship After 10 NCL cruises this by far was the worst service we received. The difference between Taste and Savor was Night and Day, We went to breakfast at Taste on day 2 and it took them 3 times to get 4 guest order correct,

Went to Savor for dinner on Tues, Wed, Thurs, And the Service was in our Top 5 ever. No consistency anywhere on the ship they were just going though the motions.

They RUINED H2O made it Half the size of any of the Breakaway ships and Took Out the Grato and replace it with some fountain wall. Also the entire under cover Bar is Now All Smoking Area.  And I smoke and I had to leave.

Missed the Island because of Wind, AGAIN! Last time  this will happen for US,  The worst part We are so close to Co Co CAY and saw RC ship docked and people on the beach.  Floated around the ocean for 24 hours, Pulled into Nassau at mid-night for a medical reason,

Overall Unless they gave us the price we paid for this cruise we will not be on any large NCL ship in the future, Would rather be on the Gem.
