Waiting for my FCC

Recommended Posts

Has anyone here who has taken the Future Cruise Credit for their March/April Norwegian cruises that got cancelled gotten confirmation of that credit yet? I called my PCC 2 weeks ago to take the credit and sign up for a new cruise. Haven't heard or seen ANYTHING yet about my credit, but they DID squeeze us another $250 on the spot during that phone call for a down payment on the new cruise.

We got our letters on March 19th, but the FCC is still not yet showing on our account.  We know the NCL reservations desk could see the FCC when we booked another cruise through our TA on the 19th, but we still cannot.  I'm sure the system is still backed-up and I'll give them a couple more days before calling.

I got mine about a week ago and have already booked another cruise

I was notified on 3/13/20 that my 3/29/20 sailing was canceled. I’ve yet to see anything in my account or on my cc.   My pcc says I now have one $250 cruise next.  I had used (2) $500 Haven cruise nexts to book along with cash and fcc’s from a previous mishap.  My husband’s “my ncl” has zero fcc ... and  it’s not showing him booked on the sailing. My account still shows me as booked and departing today.  Pretty frustrated because I could not get the correct proof of cancellation in time so was denied  a refund /credit on my independent insurance policy. I did eventually get ahold of the ta and they said ncl was working on it- just never happened in time for insurance refund. My pcc  suggested I give ncl another $1500 Haven deposit to secure my next sailing and then apply the fcc and cruise nexts, refunds.... when they get around to straightening things out.  I politely declined.  Hopefully they’ll get things straight someday and will succeed as a company.

Thanks all. I ask only because we were going to use the extra 25% to possibly upgrade and wanted to know the exact amount so we could make an informed decision. The FAQ page of the NCL FCC's says the FCC's should be in everyone's account by April 1st, but I was wondering how many may have already got it. Also saw that there would be an EXTRA 20% discount for anyone using their FCC's to book a new cruise ONLINE. I wonder if that's in addition to the 30% discount ALREADY being offered online. The extra 20% offer would be ridiculous if you had to choose between that or the 30% being offered to everyone. I also think it stinks that since we already booked our next cruise through our PCC that we don't also get the extra 20%.

Unbelievable!!!!!  I feel your pain. We booked a new cruise through our PCC 2 days after our cruise was cancelled. We were somewhat in a hurry because the website said that the FREE AT SEA benefits for our new cruise were expiring that day. WE were shocked when the PCC asked us for another $250 as a deposit for the new cruise. THEY ALREADY HAD THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FROM US THAT THEY NEED TO CREDIT US...…. AND THEY HAVE THE GALL TO ASK FOR MORE!! And then...… the FREE AT SEA benefits that they said were expiring ARE STILL BEING OFFERED exactly as advertised before the expiration date, 14 days later !!!!

The 20% is in addition to the 30%.

If you just booked, you should be able to rebook the same cruise, using the FCC and 20%.  I would call your PCC - there is no excuse for what they did.  For future reference, the Free at Sea offers are almost always in effect.  They put an expiration date, then extend it again and again.  Tell them you want your deposit back and that you want a new PCC.

Rumor has it that they are doing the FCC letters in batches - some speculate alphabetically, others think by cruise date.  I got my letter 3/22 for a 3/20 cruise.

We got our FCC and Bonus FCC for our cancelled 3/22 cruise posted to our accounts the day before it was to depart 3/21.  The Cruise Next Certs were also back in my account.

We used the FCC's, the 20% discount, and CN certs the next day to book a December cruise.

To answer your question, the 20% extra discount is deducted after the 30% discount (keep in mind that was from an inflated retail price).

The left over FCC (about $1000) was sitting in my account the day after.

Today, we booked an August 2021 cruise with the balance of FCC, and again got 20% additional fare reduction on passenger 1 & 2.

Have a look what olde Virgin offering

Virgin is offering two choices to affected passengers.

Cruisers who wish to reschedule their sailing will receive a 200 percent Future Voyage Credit, which can be applied to another sailing. Those who rebook before June 30, 2020, will also receive up to \$500 in onboard credit.

For those who want to cancel outright, Virgin will give a 100 percent refund for the affected sailing, and will issue a 25 percent Future Voyage Credit on the value paid to use for a future booking.

Wonder where I booking next?

I cancelled my April 18 sailing back on March 10.  Had cancelled the "extras" before cancelling the cruise, so I should be getting a refund for those.  Still haven't seen either a refund to the cc or a FCC show up on my NCL account.  The CNs I used were reinstated very quickly.  They are back in my account with the original expiration date.  I also had used a casino credit.  That hasn't shown up in the account either.

Finally received our FCC confirmation e-mail on April 3rd, nineteen days after we had told our PCC that we wanted to take the credit and book a future cruise. The 125% covered everything we had paid up to that point, including Air/Air Taxes, Prepaid Service Charges, Beverage Package Service Charges, Dining Package Service Charges, and the Shore Excursions we had paid them for. We were able to use it to book a mini suite on a future cruise of the same duration and destination for the same price (with the extra 20% discount if we booked a cruise by April 10th) as our cancelled cruise's balcony. The WAITING for the FCC confirmation was a little stressful in that we didn't want to upgrade until we knew EXACTLY what we were getting in the FCC and if there were any restrictions on how we could apply the credit. BTW, there were no restrictions. For instance, our Beverage promo service charge remained the same between our cancelled cruise and our newly booked cruise, and we could apply the extra 25% we got on the Beverage service charge to anything we wanted, like another excursion.
