Rebook a Casino at Sea Cruise

I had a 6/13/2020 Casinos at Sea comped cruise cancelled.  It was originally booked with two CruiseNext certs and the residual charges were put on my credit card.  The cruise was cancelled and I elected to take the FCC + 25% which was only on the portion that I actually paid.  Today I called to rebook and after some major numeric gyrations, got everything done.  A couple of notes:

1.  The individual with whom I spoke was darn good with all the calculations.  It took me a bit to wrap my head around them.  Good customer service.

2.  Casinos at Sea extended the comped cruise offer for the new one - same level cabin.

3.  After all my credits and discounts were applied, I still had a FCC balance.

4.  We were able to include the drink package gratuity and a FCC balance remained.

5.  I was unable to use my two formlly applied CruiseNext certificates as they have not been redepositted yet.

6.  I learned that FCC is only good towards the cruise charges incurred before embarkation.  Residual goes into my account - going to prepay some excursions or dinners.

7.  A non-comped couple traveling with us rebooked, upgraded, prepaid daily and drink gratuities, and still had plenty of FCC left over.  Their one CruiseNext cert was not available.

7.  Fingers crossed we sail.

I was a tad dissapointed that the CruiseNext certs were "pending" redeposit into my bank.  There is no reason for this except to get the FCC off the books.  Really close to a wash; a minor irritation, as the credit covered the cost.  Wish us luck!!

We book through CAS and have also experienced the wait for the Cruise Next to be re-deposited by NCL.   From what we have been told, CN re-deposits can only be processed by a very small staff of people in Cruise Next.   When they are back in your 'MyNCL account, shouldn't be a problem to get them applied to your next cruise.    Sometimes you can get them applied to your cruise yourself through 'MyNCL' using the 'make a payment' and select the CN.  If a problem, call CAS and those agents are (usually) very helpful.

Thanks for sharing your details.  Helpful to us all☺️

the 25% bonus fcc you had to use in 1 shot but the regular fcc can be partially used and the rest carried over.

so you didnt have to buy that drink package. (you have free drinks at the casino bar. when it's closed for port days, get drinks the night before and leave in your fridge.)

use all your 25% bonus, and part of the regular fcc. and leave the leftover fcc in your acct.

you didnt need to waste it on unnecessary purchases.

Were you able to use the 25% bonus FCC on a comped cruise?

CAS agent told me it could only be used on 'Fare' or upgrade.  I wanted to use it for our admin fee/port fees.  Doesn't our Admin fee of $20 per person/day count as fare?

Maybe I need to call back for another agent🤔

Having just dealt with CAS over the phone for just an hour I was pleasantly surprised at how well everything went, they were very understanding of the situation and transferred all my discounts and stuff from my old cancelled booking to my new with no questions asked. By far a way better experience than that with NCL...

havent booked a new cruise yet and i wont till ncl announces a firm date on when they are sailing.

no need to tie up $, time, effort and worry.

did not know the restriction of the 25% bonus fcc.

thought it could be used just like cash, except it has to be in 1 shot.

if i knew about the restrictions you listed, i would have opted for cash refund. not worth the hoops to jump through on top of the uncertainty.

My only cash investment in my cancelled cruise was about $200 so we decided to re-book.  Majority was paid with the two CN deposits so we decided to go ahead and re-book.  It's been quite a process!  My DH got his FCC weeks ago, and my portion was finally refunded with the CNs being redeposited.

CAS was great with getting us re-booked in a good category for next March.   Called and had that one booked using my DH's FCC he had already received.   Then finally got my two Cruise Next back last night so got them applied to the new cruise today.   But yeah.....no guarantees that one will be cruising either.

My cash outlay with NCL is mostly in CN deposits on four future cruises plus two more CNs left on my account.   Hoping we get to use them all🤞

I have to say that my experience with CAS was much like Matco...  Great customer service, lots of advice and much appreciated effort to maximize FCC and re-apply land-based casino certificates.  Turned one canceled cruise to Bermuda into a short cruise to Mexico AND a deep Southern Caribbean from San Juan that we've been thinking about for quite awhile - all booked well into 2021 in hopes of no further cancellations!!!

I have two cruises scheduled right now with CAS. 9/5/2020 for Alaska, and 10/25/2020 from Venice. My Barcelona cruise for this month was cancelled of course. I ended up using the FCC towards my Alaska cruise. I have another CAS cruise to schedule by 6/14.

So here is my question - am I only allowed to reschedule for what I already scheduled - like another Alaska or Venice Cruise? Would I only get the $250 pp value for another cruise, plus whatever I paid on the other cruises? In my offer to set my new cruise, it has some good cruises on it, but I'm thinking maybe we'll schedule a longer, maybe Panama Canal cruise? I'm worried our September and October cruises are going to be cancelled.

Any thoughts for those of you who use the CAS cruises?
