Westerdamn & Statendamn? Usually on Princess

We have been on only one HAL ship. To us, it seemed very old and rickety.

We are now Platinum on Princess who has now completely changed the

itinerary we had booked for Sept. 2021.

So, I have found great itineraries on HAL on the Westerdamn and Statendamn

which almost totally match the itinerary we wanted.

I would love some feedback regarding these two ships. We usually book an aft

cabins and would like to know the size and what you think about the locations on the different decks.

In 2008, we were on the Oosterdamn and there was smoking allowed in the cabins and on balconies.

I am assuming the smoking policy has changed?

Thank you all!

We  were on the Westerdam last year and it had been updated very nicely.   We also spent several weeks on the Koningsdam  sister ship to the Nieuw Statendam.   She is a beautiful new ship.  Some of the balconies on the fourth deck are larger.   We too are Platinum on Princess but we’re disappointed in the crowding on the Royal Princess and lack of a wrap around promenade.

You’re welcome,  I can’t see anything in the box.

we had an aft balcony on the Zuiderdam, sister to the Westerdam, that was larger but can’t remember whether it was 4 or 5.   Somehow I think 5.  It was great!

I forgot to add that the ships are non smoking except for a spot outside  by the lido now.  It’s a huge improvement.
