August 2022 - Hotel Availability

I will be in London mid August before a British Isles cruise.  I have begun to look at hotels.  I see that some are not yet booking, but others are saying they have no availability.  I did see on this forum that there will be a Royal celebration in June.  Is there something going on in London also during mid August?

Some booking systems show no availability when they are beyond the booking period. Work backwards until you find booksble dates to get the approximate time horizon.

I would think its too early for the vast majority of hotels. Far too soon.

This far out, "no availability" is a euphemism for "way too early to book, pal" 😉

We knew that we wanted to book the same hotel that had to be cancelled, due to cruise being cancelled (covid).

Because it was too far ouf, I e-mailed them and was able to book again, even though it was too far out. They still had our information from the first booking.
