Rare pierces Posted May 31, 2021 #1 Share Posted May 31, 2021 Pictures taken between Monday, May 31 and Sunday, April 6. This week has a Holiday in it. I know you took pictures! Rules: See above That's it. This isn't a contest. All photos taken this week are welcome (not just cruising). Prizes will not be awarded. Discovering the joy of photography is the prize. The idea is to get folks out using their cameras for more than vacations and toddler birthdays. Post one. Post many. Up to you. Have fun with your camera and share your fun with others! zackiedawg Posted June 3, 2021 #5 Share Posted June 3, 2021 As Monday was a holiday, I had the rare opportunity to take some wetlands photos closer to the beginning of the 'Picture of the Week' posts...though I didn't get a chance to upload them until today: Black-necked stilt having a drink: Turtle climbing a tree: Many juvenile wood storks hanging around their nests: Young green iguana on a tree over the water: Snowy egret requesting a flyby. "Negative Ghostrider, the pattern is full". Ghostrider doesn't follow the rules: Mottled duck flying low over the water:

Rare pierces Posted June 7, 2021 Author #12 Share Posted June 7, 2021 With pandemic remodeling itself reaching pandemic proportions, a nationwide shortage of building materials and the transportation thereof has been changing our plans for the back yard remodel on a weekly basis. The price of plywood paused the exterior wall remodel, so we ordered the decking for the next phase. We are now on week three of our 5 day delivery estimate for the load of decking. The deck frame has been done for a while and with no decking to finish that phase, we decided to bump the roof over the cooking area deck higher on the to-do list. This went well. I was able to get all the materials needed and spent Saturday and Sunday sawing, painting and liberally applying fasteners to those materials. The cumulative mile of ladder climbing sort of sucked. I Saw That! Dave

zackiedawg Posted June 14, 2021 #14 Share Posted June 14, 2021 I've got two different weekends' worth for this time period, with the Monday holiday to start off the week and now the following Saturday, June 5th, to wrap it up...out in the Florida wetlands: A roseate skimmer dragonfly down by the water: A black-necked stilt chick looking quite adorable: And this is what the adult stilt looks like: But the chicks are just too cute: It's not just the birds who have babies this time of year...this baby cooter turtle looked like he was playing 'Superman' fantasies: Anhinga with a fish catch: A young green heron sitting up on the rail, watching me approach: A cattle egret looking all puffed up and with its mating colors:
