Do you think there will be a time soon when no vaccine is required to cruise?

Sounds like you dodged a potential bullet.  We were on the Quantum round trip Singapore during Feb 2020.  We were sitting in our pre-cruise hotel lobby when we received an email from RCI saying anyone traveling from or through China would not be allowed to board.  Our group was OK, but one close friend had to change a return home flight that had a stopover in Hong Kong.   

The four of us traveling together and 2000+ other passengers, never heard any other passengers did either.  In the above situation, did hear these two folks later died, so their health situation was serious, one left the ship and went directly to a local hospital.   Was in the local news in March. 

 

This happens sometimes when traveling.  We were traveling and at Charles DeGaulle Airport, the morning when terrorists attacked passengers I believe in Belgium on a train.  Traveling again in Paris when we learned Airlines world wide were restricting fluid items being carry on flights, we had to unpack items and toss before heading to the airport.  We were on the Golden Princess heading across the Atlantic to NYC, when New Orleans was hit by a Hurricane and it was moving up the east coast.  In 2020, we were watching the news on the Grand about cruise ships struggling with Covid 19 out brakes and wondering, how this was going to impact the world, mind you it was Feb 21 we got off Grand, so the outcome was still very unclear.  Even Fauci was saying nothing more than a bad flu.   We all know how that turned out now.  We still have to live our lives and trust our own good common sense.

Yes, the first test was antigen.  I hope they did a PCR test second, but don't know for sure about that.

I really would like to know which vaccine these two passenger had taken.  Some are nowhere near as effective as others.  Of course, if they are immunosuppressive drugs, that could also render any of the vaccines much less effective.
