We have five adults and two cabins, but one person won't be vaccinated. If he is going to be treated like third-class steerage then we won't be going. Unfortunately, probably best for anyone unvaccinated to avoid cruise ships at least for the time being for everyone's sake. Just too much riding on a successful restart. Hopefully we can get behind us all in time.

I'd rather have the shot in the arm in fact than the stick. I have friends who've been tested that swore they could feel it behind their eyeball! Noami Posted July 16, 2021 #57 Share Posted July 16, 2021 My husband and I caved this morning and moved our October booking on the Pride to October on the Legend next year. We have a two-and-a-half year old son still in diapers and had bought an OV cabin. With what’s looking like a greater and greater likelihood that Carnival won’t be able to get the children’s programming back up and running by this fall, we decided to bail out and dump the stress about getting an exemption or trying to contain and entertain a lively, noisy little wrecking ball for hours and hours in a 185 square foot non-childproofed cabin. Let alone persuading him to keep his mask on when out and about in the ship saying “Hi!” to everyone he sees. Happily enough, we were able to trade up to an obstructed balcony, longer cruise, and ports we haven’t visited before for only $500 more dollars which isn’t due for another year. It was painless.

OK, one more time - you are not correct unless you are sailing FROM the Bahamas. I have spoken Directly to the website you are quoting from in the Bahamas, they have said that cruise ships coming from the US do NOT need the health visa. I also confirmed this directly with JH at Carnival this morning: Here is the post: John, Good Friday morning to you! Hope this day finds you well and happy with only positive posts to deal with. Quick question please, and I apologize if you have answered this already but I just want to make sure. Currently, for guests traveling on a cruise to the Bahamas from the US, we do NOT have to have the Bahamas Health Visa correct? Thanks in advance for all you do! Good morning Bill and I hope this finds you well. That is correct you did not need to fill out this visa. If I can do anything else for you please make sure you let me know and I wish you a great cruise. Cheers

BrotherCraig Posted July 16, 2021 #65 Share Posted July 16, 2021 (edited) Just changed our MG Thanksgiving cruise to March - officially. It was painless although it did cost me right around $1200 more to change it and had to downgrade one of the two cabins from balcony to an interior. It's only money. Makes the $1200 OBC that was given to us pretty much worthless. lol Edited July 16, 2021 by BrotherCraig

If they want to keep it like a Princess or Holland America type cruise, then yes, they will keep it like this. It was far from a family cruise vacation at all. I mean, I feel you on that, but from a carnival stand point, they're filling the rooms and saving money by not needing to run the kid camps. So while I wish they would change it, there's no real motivation for carnival to do so. I'm sure they will, just not any time soon. Or at least until the start up is going full force.
