My wife will not go near the casino. If it were smoke free I would spend more time there, but I understand that non smoking gamblers are the minority.

Dream class ships now have a non-smoking casino located on a different floor.

To answer the question based on my experience, I average loss about $100/day. So probably about $850/day coin-in.  That seems good enough lately for free interiors and DOU on all but xmas and thanksgiving dates.

On speculation, you'd probably have to go on a $250-$300/day bankroll for the balcony version of the deal.

I would imagine you get some kind of offers for just playing at all.

Don't gamble HUGE amounts but just before the COVID I won some money at the beginning of the cruise and then spent it throughout the week.   Carnival thinks I'm a big gambler now, and coming out of COVID, I had three offers with 4 redemption on each offer.   It means we had 12 "free" cruises  (aside from taxes, port fees, insurance and gratuities).  These Premium Offers were too good to turn down, so we now have six cruises coming up.   I was shocked however, about how much people spend.   On that same cruise a year and a half ago, some lady told me she was down $3000, - and we'd only been cruising for two hours.  I'll never be in that league.

Sat next to a woman who racked up 30,000 points before breakfast on the first sea day...so 12 hours?

I think the daily limit is $5000 in the casino and they raise that on Premiers, Ultras and Elites

If you get a large win, you can expect serious offers because they want their money back

True. It happened to me.  Now I get the offers, although they aren't great...small savings with free drinks in the casino

The daily limit you can charge on your sign and sail for the casino is $5000 but you can fill those machines with any other cash you have handy...LOL.  No limit to what you can put in!

My husband and I both spend time in the casino at the slots.  We have spent a lot on some cruises and much less on others.  We receive good offers.  Generally, free balcony room, obc, free drinks and casino credit.

Not going to call it a trick or anything, but set aside like $100 per day and find an inexpensive slot machine that's kind of fun and just burn an hour.

Not be in the casino an hour, but be actual playtime at least an hour, then watch your offers rise.

Time is your friend in a casino, for them and you

This is almost exactly what I do.  I only gamble on cruises and have never been to a land casino.  I do it as fun, rather than shopping or sunbathing.   I budget $100-$125 per day and take my time at a slot machine.  I'll play for at least an hour, leave and then go back later in the evening for at least another hour.   I tend to watch for slot machines that are either near the cashier booth or near the outside edge of the casino where there seems to be less smoke as I am not a smoker.  My family shakes their heads because I get offers all the time.  Sailing in late September on $100/pp, balcony, $200 cruise credit and drinks for me anywhere on the ship (which causes my family to further shake their heads because I also don't drink alcoholic drinks  - so this is even funnier).  Booked a similar, but much longer cruise for February.  My daughter planned a birthday cruise for me and ended up using one of my offers because our PVP said it was better than hers.   I just hope I get an opportunity to do a little gambling in September while cruising.  I sure need a vacay and cruising has been the most-relaxing vacation I have experienced in a long time.   Sorry to ramble.  Happy cruising everyone!!!

I just retired and that is kind of in my plans for now.

I know this sounds crazy and is total first-world problems, but you know your life isn't too bad when you're saying "OOO, St Maarten again?" with a sour look

LOL

I am going to just try and go as slow as possible.

After coming off a 100mph life, it's odd

I'm starting to say that about cozumel now

I won $7500 from a machine 11 years ago and have only done a cheap 4day sailing since then. I still get great offers I including the 10day I'm going on in a few weeks (total $313 inuding taxes with $450 obc and drinks in the casino). Maybe the secret is winning and then they keep begging for their money back? 😉

My neighbor was on his first Carnival Cruise and did not gamble one dollar while on the Cruise. However, he has just booked his third Carnival Cruise with the Casino Deals sent to his email address.

The selected cruisers are supposed to be randomly selected? It seems that he has already become a loyal Carnival Cruiser. Go figure.

My husband takes $100 for the WEEK lol and we get some great offers! For our next cruise in Nov and the one in July we have free drinks in the casino and a $200 OBC. He make the $100 last who knows how they decide

How long does hubby play on $100?  Just a few hours right, and just for one day unless he hits something unusual.  Otherwise Ricky got some 'splainin' to do.

If he says $100 lasts him the whole week, he's hittin something alright, and it's not in the casino.

You should cruise out of Australian ports - casinos are always smoke free on AU cruises 🙂
