If you look at the deck plans, you'll find that both sides have life boats outside of the casino windows.

Maybe they were having a safety drill during the time that JH was doing the walk through and the lifeboats were in the water.

My guess is that the "clear view" behind the tables was at the bowed windows (opposite the atrium glass).

I mean just because it is Half/Half doesn't mean the smoking smell won't be prevalent on the Non-smoking side lol. Lets be honest your still going to smell it just hopefully not as bad. 

Will be a huge different.  I won't have to throw my clothes away after a cruise anymore difference.  lol  They have great ventilation is what someone that works on the ship said on FB.
