bid for the upgrade

We currently have a balcony cabin and bid for an upgrade to the deluxe suite yacht club  They changed our tickets and I want to make sure they kept the balcony  How do I find out what room we will have.  I cannot do an inside room and I am hoping I get a balcony because that is how I understood this.  Any help on how I can find out my room.  Like I said I had an assigned balcony and I understood it as I would get a balcony in the suite.  I was on the phone and that is how it was explained to us, by the customer service representative.  If they swapped it to an inside I am going t have to change it to a balcony.  I do hope that I can find out before we sail  on the 18th of September.  I have had a terrible time with setting up my cruise since I have booked it almost a year ago after it being cancelled on us twice before.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Wonderset,

To check which room has been assigned, please log into MSC For Me app (available for both iPhone's and Android). Then, you can check everything 😉 If needed, you can provide the room number + ship and I can check for you !

Cheers

Deluxe yacht club is a balcony.

When you bidded you were shown what your bidding on.

If it stated interior, you would have seen it.

Thank you so much for the help  I am on the Meraviglia.  My original room was 9149.  But now it says booked with no room number.  Hoping I would get the tickets with a room number so that I can laminate the luggage tags and put them on the hotel.  I am not sure how that works if we would know before we leave.  Thank you for the help it would be great to know our room number.

I had (have?) one of the corner balconies on the same deck.  I bid on an interior yc and noticed a day or so after the bid that my room now says 'G0000', which I assume means 'Guaranteed.'

I'm hoping that it's just an intermediate status while the bid is still open, but I'm a bit concerned that I lost the (last) corner balcony room to a potentially unsuccessful bid.

SO should I worry about having the interior instead of a balcony.  I have GOOOOO also on my documents.  I just hope I still have a balcony  that is my only concern.  I will try to call MSC and see what they say.  I have been on many cruises and never had this many worries.  But I am cruising soon and am excited about that!

I don't think they can or would change you out of the room type you paid for.

In my case, even though I am not worried about still having a balcony, I'm worried I won't get my corner one back because I am very tall and I'm not sure I would fit on a normal one.

This is my first cruise, and I am a super-planner - so I may be overthinking things. 🙂

I just called MSC  She tried to change the cabin and would not let her.  She said I probably did get the bid and it is a balcony.. They have plenty of balcony rooms available.  She said they are turning deck 9 into a covid floor so they are moving everyone.  They have floors 10-12 available with balcony rooms,  I should call a week before if I have not received my updated cruise tickets.  Also said they are sailing with 70 percent passengers.  To me that seems like a lot of passengers traveling on the ship during covid.

MonsterJoe  Unless u are extremely tall you are probably OK in a balcony or any other room.  Anyway I hope so.  My husband is tall and he is always good.

Interesting.  Thanks for the follow-up.

70% does seem like a lot - especially compared to the numbers we are reading about here on the board.  Also, considering it's going to be 100% vaxxed, I figured there would be fewer people than now, not more.

Monster Joe,  I also thought it seemed like a lot.  But since they have so many balcony cabins available maybe people are canceling in the fear of getting the virus. Who KNOWS!  Only can know when we board.  This is our 19th cruise but our first with MSC  I am getting excited to be on a ship again.  My husband says not to get used to the yacht club  It may be the only time we can afford it!  Maybe the casino will be lucky for us. LOL

Don't worry about your luggage tags.

At the port go to the yacht tent out front. They will tag them and escort you on the ship.

Be aware the YC YINs have small bathrooms and a coffin sized shower.  Our kids had one on Seaside.  It is a beautiful room, but I stepped in shower and it is tight.  Possible work around is to use one up by pool.

It's 18 days until the cruise and I can't get my documents, so I finally called and got nowhere.

She kept insisting that I had a guaranteed cabin - I didn't pay for a guaranteed cabin - I paid more to not have a guaranteed cabin, but she was not moved at all.

She said if I didn't like it, I could probably get a refund. 😐

Call back and get a different rep...it's amazing how they differ depending on who you speak with.

I agree.

HUCA is a good policy. I usually have to hang up and call again at least 3 times to get a consistent answer.

Not sure what is going on. From reports it seems many have guaranteed rooms without number.

On web check in for us, it says room not assigned but under details it has room number.  Web checkin like in a non complete mode.  At 20 days we could get etickets.  Boarding pass not available until a few days later.

Reports all over the board.
