Welcome … hope to see you onboard as we are staying for a B2B.  I know you will have as great a time as we are having.
I have a question for you … did they change your arrival time as we are supposed to be getting back to LA late?
We weren’t quite as late getting into Cabo as we thought we would so I’m curious as to what time boarding will start for the second leg of the cruise.

We have been scheduled for 1:30-2:00 boarding and so far that hasn’t changed! But if it does I’ll let you know

We recommend guests wash or replace their mask daily and choose a good quality double-layer cloth or medical-grade mask. Please note that visors and face shields will not be accepted as a substitute for a face mask.

Are face shields classed as a mask?

No. Masks should have two or more layers and be worn over the nose and mouth. Gaiters and bandanas are not allowed. Face shields are only permitted when used in addition to a mask.

Wow … I didn’t see that until just now.  I know they enforce these rules strictly in the terminal but have seen gaiters and bandanas worn around the ship.

Question on masks for though On-board.    What type of masks does Princess required?  Any face covering, N95, KN95, Gator, ect.

Also Does Princess have extra masks on board if a mask get lost/damaged?   Been to Princess WEB sight and can not get that info, only Mask required.    Trying to figure out how many and what type will be need.   Thanks

They absolutely do have extra surgical masks but don’t have them set out. I see many of the crew were the N95 and KN95 masks but many of the officers have on cloth masks … but they are handling my food so, I’m fine with that.

I am in a suite.  Conditioner, shampoo, lotion, liquid shower soap all in room.  We have not gotten the water except the first day and afternoon snacks only on 1st and 2nd.  I am sure we could ask for it though.  Dinner coupon in room on arrival.  Room has been freshened twice a day.

Did you book your suite with the dinner promotion?

Did you book your suite with the dinner promotion?  Because I didn't think we got a dinner on first night with 5 day cruise.

We got dining credit on our account which I used when I pre booked a dinner in Sabettini's.  We also got a card in our room for a complimentary dinner and it seems a lot of others did too.  I saw others handing them to the staff in the Crown Grill on the first night.  So, we got two free dinners this trip.

I can't wait to board tomorrow and join you. I got back my Negative covid test this morning from Kaiser. It was only 24 hours to get results so one less worry here. Can anyone currently on board now ask how many passengers will be sailing tomorrow. I would assume there will be no more passengers added since we're within 24 hours of sailing and homeland security closes the manifest.

I did not use a smart phone or app. I registered on the phone with Ocean Ready. I will report how embarkation goes having to go into the tech dummy line! I did receive my medallion in the mail so it may not be to hard just show my covid test and fill out the health questionnaire. My friend did not get a medallion so we will see how long that takes.

I am in a full suite. I hope the amenities are as printed although someone reported the gold mesh bathroom amenity wasn't available. I'm bringing my own conditioner just in case. Since 2 bottles of water are supposed to be delivered each evening I guess we get turn down service or at least the water dropped off . Since it's a short cruise I am not entitled to a specialty restaurant the first night but since the ship is less then full capacity I am hopeful to get that invite.

  Looking forward to tomorrow..............................

We have elite status and have getting more goodies in our room.  I did notice our room steward did drop off a tube of conditioner … nothing was in the gold mesh bag but we got pretty much everything but the loofah and the lip balm.  We are just in a regular balcony room.

I’ve always been under the impression that suite passengers didn’t receive a dinner at one of the specialty restaurants for a five night cruise either.
But, we saw someone at the front desk with her voucher and inquiring about it.
Of note, the Crown Grill has been super busy on this trip.  They might forego the free dinners for suite passengers on the next leg …

I am in a suite on the 4 day cruise and made a reservation for dinner at the Crown Grill the first night and it came back as no charge.

I like Sabettini's better.  Food is so subjective, but they make their pasta from scratch using regional recipes and the menu is more creative.  Crown Grill is a traditional steakhouse with a staid menu.  Nothing wrong with that, but we live in a very small town where Denny's is considered haute cuisine.  Recommendation on desert if you are overly stuffed, ask for the sampler portion of the Rocher from the taster plate.  Perfect size.

Yes, I am in a window suite. On the Caribbean Princess the WS does not have the casino outside the wall of suites. I have never sailed on the Grand and was worried about noise and smoke.  Did you also get the little bag of sleep goodies in your suite?

We’ve been in a WS on the Grand twice in the past … they are awesome.  There is zero smoke noise or smoke from the casino.  The rooms are separated by a separate / private hallway.  You will enjoy it!

Can anyone report if the ship is still expected to arrive ‘late’ back to San Pedro tomorrow, September 30.

I received a call from Princess  yesterday saying I have not completed Medallion check in. The APP has ‘lost’ my passport info, Medallion support says they are aware of the problem and ‘sorry’, will probably need to have passport scanned at port.

I mentioned to agent current sailing was notified ship expected to arrive late back to San Pedro so will this affect embarkation for Sept 30 sailing?

Reply was she has no info regarding delay and first arrival group is still 11:30- 12.

Guess we get to find out tomorrow.

We have t heard anything … still waiting to find out about the B2B testing procedures.  Hope they let us know sometime today.

Hey!  Did you on any other thread do your impressions of the Majestic?  Reason I am asking is a person we ate lunch with said it was his least favorite ship because of the way they did the set up for the Asian market and the conversion was badly thought out.  We are on her for a California Coastal in April and I was looking forward to her because of the uniqueness, not in spite of it.

Yes, I was on the first sailing back out on the Majestic and participated in the live feed set up by HaveDogWillTravel.

The Majestic  is the most beautiful ship on which ever sailed … there was nothing not to just love, as far as we are concerned.  She sparkled and shined … oh, so very beautiful!  Everyone likes different things but, I’d sail again on her in a heartbeat.  For the US sailings, they changed up some of her menu items at the noodle bar and Harmony.  Some people didn’t like that she lacks a full promenade deck and there is no Crooners .. but, they had music in the piazza and a piano player at the Crown Grill bar.  We found nothing wrong with any of that … plenty of places for great entertainment.

So…some more updates before my iPad runs out of battery.  I’m up at the indoor pool and was enjoying some beautiful solitude but looks like the ping pong players have jumped in and they are screaming up a storm.  That’s ok … it’s there vacation and we chose to sit here.  Up until now, everyone has been so quiet … I didn’t realize there were teens or 20 somethings on this cruise.
Ahhh .. power drained so to be continued …

You will notice a lot of new furniture  and carpeting .. the ship does look fresher all the way around.  There are still the major flaws, though … some of the public bathrooms just need a complete redo and some leaks haven’t been fully repaired and the balcony furniture is definitely old but functional. But, for the parts that really matter, she is looking really good for a ship of her age.  I think she looks better than when we last sailed on her in which was right before the pandemic.
Most of the paintings have remained from before … so, I’d think it would still be the same.

@Cruise Raider

@cruzrbachoua

I dropped my mask leaving the buffet on Majestic and the buffet attendant   retrieved one for me immediately.   She had them stored in a cabinet as you enter the buffet.

Thanks for the update on the condition of the ship.   Your report inspires me to book a last minute cruise. 😊

like you, I thought the Majestic was the most beautiful ship.   There were a couple little things I missed, but overall I wouldn’t hesitate to book a another sailing on   her

Just type in logon and there will be a set of instructions to get you on …

also, set your WiFi settings to MedallionNet.  To switch between devices, type in logout.com on the one you are switching from.  They have instructions in your room and a lot of staff to help you out onboard.

Thank you for the info.  Cheers

Cruise Raider; you are doing b2b; would you post a note letting us know if your 30 sep-4 oct trip will be delayed also.  I am doing 4 Oct and may have to adjust my return flight on the 9th.  Someone mentioned all ships departing LGB are slowing down due to whale migration.  Just a heads up would be great.  Cheers

Ok, room steward just came by with update.  We meet for early walk off at 8 am.  Hope that is the case and customs is ready for us!  Hoping to stop by Trader Joe's on the way back home and stock up on ingredients for the cabbage soup I need to eat for the next two weeks to break even on the calories.
