Long Time Cruiser, First Time Suite Guest

Getting ready to get our sea legs back. We will board Summit for a four night trip on Thursday.

This is the first of several trips booked. This will also be the first time we have been in a suite.

We may feel differently after we get to the pier and on the ship but thus far nothing seems all that special about the experience.

We have not heard from Celebrity in anyway that is different from past experiences. Making a lot of assumptions...do we join the masses and head to the buffet for lunch? Is there a lounge area at the pier for suite guests? Is the muster drill handled differently? What about the butler - what is their function?

Would love to hear any tips that will make the suite experience extra special! We have booked a suite in two of our three upcoming trips.

Oh just wait!  Celebrity treats their suite guests like absolute royalty. I swear my “butler” (I forget their new name) would have carried me around the ship if I asked him!  🤪 The entire retreat staff are always there waiting to do whatever you want. Most of the time we didn’t have anything for them to do!  I am so spoiled when in a suite that I’m almost disappointed when I’m “only” in Aqua class next time… almost.

We have only sailed out of Miami once.  There was an entrance for suite guests at the terminal, it was hidden along the side, to the left behind a pillar.  Don't know if this is the case currently. There was no lounge but this was a long time ago.

You don't say what time you board but Luminae is open for lunch.

You can watch the muster drill on your phone using the app, or on the TV in your suite.  When done you go to the muster station to have your sea pass scanned.  That's it, no sitting in the muster station waiting for the drill to start.

The butler is there to take care of you, the cabin attendant takes care of the suite.  There are a lot of threads on what the butler will do.

You have access to the Retreat Lounge and Sun Deck where beverages and snacks are available. Some ships have self serve coolers where you can get water, pop and beer to take back to your suite.  Depending on the level of suite you have the mini bar might be free.  Check with the Butler to confirm before you take anything from it.

On the Summit you can go directly to your room and drop off your luggage, your keys will be waiting for you.   You can then go to the retreat lounge, sit and relax and meet the retreat Concierge.  You can have a nice relaxing lunch in Luminae the suite restaurant.   Try the Hamburger, its delicious.

We are currently sailing in a sky suite on the Summit on our way to Mexico.  At the port there is a Retreat podium, where they take your luggage, and then an escort will take you into the special check in area, then whisk you onto the ship. They go over all your special dining options etc. along the way.  We were able to go straight to our cabin and our butler stopped by to go over everything with us.  We also had special invites waiting for us.  We’ve been on the ship less than a day and our experience has been extraordinary!   It’s a noticeably different and special experience.   The ship is beautifully redone and the staff is amazing.

What type of suite?  If you are in a Sky Suite you will not be contacted in advance of the cruise.  But once you get to the terminal you are treated very well and it does not matter the type of suite.  You will enjoy your experience.  Happy cruising!

Yes - a Sky Suite. Thank you for this information - very helpful!

Appreciate this information. This is exactly what I wanted/needed to know. Looking forward to getting back on a ship. Last detail to handle is the Covid test - have the test packet and plan to take it Tuesday afternoon.

You're going to love it. Connie and Sylvia are excellent Concierges. The ship and crew are wonderful. As mentioned above, all will be explained to you once you are at the terminal or on board. You haven't heard from anyone because they only contact RS passengers and above beforehand, but do not be concerned. You will have a great time.

I get back on board Summit the day you get off and am greatly looking forward to it!
