Grand Cayman

We are on the Vista in November originally scheduled for Grand Cayman and Jamaica.  Reading this thread made me wonder about our cruise.  I just checked and our schedule and now is Mahogany Bay, Belize and Cozumel.  Sure glad Carnival was big enough to notify us of the change.  😒  No big deal since we have never left the ship in Jamaica staying onboard enjoying the solitude but did want to visit Grand Cayman.  We have been to all the ports many times and just like to wander around either in the port area or on the island.

They added a third port?  That would be nice!

That was also the itinerary for our Horizon cruise in November. Now have HMC, GT and Bimini. Not happy, but understand Carnival has little choice. Just glad to be cruising again.

Bimini, to me would be a bummer but we love HMC and I’m good with GT. I’m just happy to be going in two weeks. I’ll go anywhere.

January 27, 2022 looks like the tentative date according to this article.

I just got a itinerary change for a march 27 cruise because caymans is closed. .. so I kinda doubt your date of January... rcl wouldnt be moving the iternary and making it up caymans will be closed .. not a carnival related letter but I have it saying caymans is closed march 27 of next year. Maybe rcl is wrong.

Read it if you want ... people arent happy with more costa maya especially. In place of jamaica. My breeze end of oct ports flipped and I think I'm doing costa maya twice this month, again in dec, .. enough..  . And doesnt help my march b2b was booked b2b on allure... not liberty. Rcl could be wrong and you right .. who knows.

Do you wanna believe an article with a quote from the Minister of Tourism of the Caymans that I forwarded or believe RCI?  I'm supposed to go there the first week of January on the Apex and they have not contacted us with a port change yet.  I personally couldn't care one way or another.

When I will be cruising on the Apex,  Mardi Gras, Discovery Princess and Prima in 2022, I will be more concerned about the ship than the port stops,  with the exception of San Diego, San Francisco and Santa Barbara on the California Coastal on the Discovery.

Do you want to go with a quote from a GC official from August? Or a more recent communication from a cruise company?

We are pleased to inform you your ports have been changed.  You are now sailing to Alcatraz, Guantanamo Bay and Mar-a-lago.  As a bonus, all three ports are tender ports.  😁 🏴‍☠️

Like I said in my last post, I don't care one way or another.   I would never cancel a cruise just because a certain port got changed.   Since I have cruised the Caribbean 30 times over the past 35 years, I have been to most of the ports so the ship is a higher priority for me that's why I'm booked on the Apex, Prima,  Mardi Gras and Celebration on my next 10 Caribbean cruises.

In order to hit all 3 of those ports, the ship would have to go through the Panama Canal as well. 😉
