How to Book RT Air with Different Cabins????

We would like to fly Delta RT from DTW to FLL.  We would like first class going and economy on the return flight.  Is my only way to do this by booking separate one way flights?   It seems on their website that if I select First Class on the departure, it only offers me First Class for the return.   Any suggestions are welcome, except for actually calling them, which seems to take a lot of time on hold.  Thanks for any suggestions.

Given the demise of domestic fares requiring a roundtrip purchase and a Saturday night stay, just book the one-ways.

Not sure why you'd want to go different classes on a relatively short domestic flight.  I can understand on TATL flights, where one is a red-eye and you want a better seat for sleeping.  But I won't quibble with your choices.

And be sure to comparison shop.  Even though you would be able to have non-stops on DL, you can get significantly  better pricing on a connection through CLT on American.

On Delta.com for flights, select multi-city and enter DTW-FLL and the date you are going and then enter FLL-DTW and the date you are returning. In the results, you will be able to select each direction separately, so you can select coach one direction and first class the other.
