Do you have to be invited?  Or once they announce the cruise & date anyone just signs up?

Start socializing dates and ships now.  Ovation or Quantum so similar ships.  Start getting an idea what kind of cabin you want and be prepared to pull the trigger quickly once the date is announced.

Any one can book the cruise. There are several venues during the cruise that are only open by invitation only.
