Have people used or plan on using any testing sights in the Miami downtown area that are free? Staying at the Hyatt Downtown. Will be in Miami a few days before our sailing so will need to test there…or we will use the Binax proctored test…thanks for any info.

The executive concierge at the Miami Intercontinental (minutes from the port and used by many premium/luxury cruise lines) recommends the City of Miami testing site on the not-too-distant Salvation Army property. Currently, no cost and very rapid results on Antigen tests.

BTW: if you’re going to use the proctored Binax test, buy extras just in case you screw it up.

Or in case the reagent bottle is dry, which is far too common according to posts on other forums.

For those staying close to airport, there is testing at the EB Hotel parking lot. The testing is run by Good Hearts Testing. I just stayed at the EB Hotel and HIGHLY recommend it. Check out Trip Advisor reviews….5 star. The pictures on their website are correct. It is beautiful. You can also leave your car there, if needed.

If you're planning to use the free, government-sponsored testing sites in Miami-Dade, please be aware that they're swamped.  Everyone who is going somewhere for, or having folks come in for, the holidays is trying to get tested.  The local news is showing hours-long lines of cars that are filled with people who don't appear happy.  Also, I'm not sure if they're doing PCR, RAT, or both.

If you're in FLL, Holy Cross Rio Vista (S Fed Hwy & SE 11th) is doing RAT and PCR.  RAT results are available in 15-30 minutes and PCR's take a couple/few days.  Also, they're not cheap so, if you don't have health insurance that covers covid testing, you might want to check out other options for testing.
