Dear Benny,

Thank you again for sharing your time and talent -- taking pictures and sharing your experiences with us. You are bringing joy during a stressful time.  I appreciate your insight and answers to our questions. Have an extra special dessert tonight for your efforts!

Benny:  Have you heard any comments from anyone about Luminae restaurant?  I understand Aqua Class passengers can dine there. Any reviews about the food from those eating there?  We may travel in future.  Can we eat in one of the 4 themed dining rooms you've been featuring (food looks wonderful) and Luminae and how easy is it to change to  different dining rooms?  (Not interested in the extra charge options.)

Enjoy and safe travels!

I think its the other way around, Luminae guests can dine in Aqua.

The guests in the real suites can do just about whatever they want.

I have never heard of Aqua Class being able to eat in Luminae. They have their own restaurant, Blu, plus the 4 MDRs.

My apologies.  You are correct, Cruise critic readers!

I meant to say:  Have you heard how the food and service is in the Blu dining room ?

And: If you are in Aqua Class, can you switch each night among the 4 MDRs and alternate with Blu?  Do you have to make reservations at each place in advance, or just show up.

Thank you.

No reservation required in Blu.  It depends when you sail, with reduced capacity you can just go whenever you want but in normal (whatever that means now) you would need reservations for the MDR restaurants.

Holy Cow!  I got to the end of this great post.  What a great job you did, Benny.  We are on the Apex next Saturday.  I must admit to some concerns about sailing now.  Thanks to you, I no longer have any doubts.  I'm going full speed ahead.

Safe travels home...

Benny thank you for this trip report! It let us see what we missed in December for the trip we canceled on the APEX.

Also you helped us decide to go for it on our Constellation cruise in February. I do risk management for work lol and the pictures you provided showed me that it will be easy to socially distance on board.

Thank you so much for coming along!  I used to work in the risk management field so I calculated the risk and reward and went for it.  So for now, it is easier to social distance on -a large cruise ship like the APEX!

Thank you for coming along!  Unfortunately I can not comment on aqua class because we did not book into aqua class and we did not pay to upgrade because the capacity was so low.  Right now, you can walk up to any MDR and be seated quickly.  Eden and FineCut not so much!

Day 7

Make Sure you check every piece of mail in your slot.  We checked out the casino on the first day and played slots for fun before dinner and by our second night an envelope arrived from Future Cruise arrived.  I thought it was junk mail so I didn’t even open it till later on in the cruise.  It’s a FREE CRUISE!!!!  We were so excited and we rushed down to future cruise to make sure it’s not an error and we booked the May 7th 2023 7 night Norway Fijords cruise in an infinite verandah in the exact same room.  So now it’s now it’s not goodbye Apex it will be see you next year!!!  It came out to $371.xx for two including taxes and fees.

I got one of these on my NYE cruise. They told me I could book one cruise within 3 months, and another 7-nights or less further out. Did they tell you the same?

They did not tell me that.  They told me I had to book the 7 night any where any ship onboard except beyond.  They did not say anything about within 3 months.  Did it say on your letter?

Thank you so much, Benny, for the awesome review and photos!  And to SNJ, too, for chiming in with his insights -- it's great to have so much info from one cruise.  Only 90 days until our turn on the beautiful Apex!

I guess we'll need to test prior to the cruise(s.  We go on Harmony of the Seas the day after we leave Apex).  Any suggestions where we should go in FLL?  We'll be arriving on the Thursday before sailing on Saturday.  We'll be driving down from Sanford, so can stop anywhere on the way down, but are staying in FLL the next few days.  Months ago I had called X to ask about something, so I asked about getting a test on that Thursday before our cruise on Royal.  Of course, I was told yes, but really doubting it now.  I'm guessing the best bet will be ordering the proctored tests to arrive before we leave.  Any suggestions?

Thank you, again, for letting us cruise with you!

thanks a million for a wonderful review. After having to cancel 3 cruises due to covid we have been less than excited for our APEX March cruise. You review has turned us around and we are super excited to be able to cruise again and enjoy ourselves.

Happy Sailing.

I am so glad !!!  I know it is difficult to be excited because of the unknown but it was truly a wonderful experience for us and we enjoyed every moment of it.  By March the new crew would have had time to adjust so you should experience excellent service onboard!  Have a great cruise!
