The upgrade fairy called, should I do it?

I am currently booked in an extended Balcony on the 7th. floor.  The fairy called and offered me a vista suite for $600 more total, for the two of us.  I have never stayed in a suite.  We have already spent a decent amount of money on this cruise.  It was a cruise that we booked 2.5 years ago.  Not a recent super cheap fair.  What would you do?

$600 doesn't sound like a deal truthfully, you have a decent cabin now and it is just the 2 of you.  Unless you absolutely want the suite (we do tend to book suites when we can and really love them for the 3 of us), I would probably keep what you currently have and save the $600 at this point.  Your money, your choice!  Good Luck!

scpirate raises an interesting point, and changes my original reply.  My original reply was going to be... if you're not having trouble making ends meet, are saving regularly for retirement, etc. AND $600 doesn't feel overwhelming, GO FOR IT just for the experience and memory.  After reading scpirate's response, I agree it might be a fun gamble for you to stay in your extended balcony, but bring an extra $600 for casino gambling.  You could win either way - hit something nice or get nice casino offers in the future.

What ship are you on and when is it sailing?  That would influence my decision.  Personally, I think a suite might be really nice during this covid period .......a place to hang out other than public areas without your mask.  But this is my opinion, and only you know the value of having more room..........inside and outside on your balcony.  Whatever you decide, have a great cruise!

When you originally booked would you have taken the suite for $600 more? I don't love the casino idea. But I'm not a casino person. If you aren't now I don't advise starting.

Bottom line is I would reflect on why you booked this cruise in the first place and if it's worth it to you to take the offer? Covid has been a ***** and depending on it's effect on your situation you might have reasons to make this cruise even more special.

We are on the Pride, Deck 7 extended balcony.

Oh forgot to add the date.  Jan 23, 2021

Something to think about is you also have suite perks as well...........priority embark/debark/tendering.  Priority reservation in the spa, dining room etc.  Free laundry. There may be more I'm sure you can look it up. I don't think your offer is a bad price (I don't know what you originally paid).  Again, only you can assess the value for you.  I think it would make it a "special" cruise, and I hope you make awesome memories whatever you decide to do!

I echo what most are saying in here. With all the people saying they are waiting hours on the phone, i find it weird that they would have people call for a $600 upgrade. Guess they still gotta make the money? 🤷‍♂️

The only bad thing about Vista Suites, especially on the Pride, is the insane vibrations of the ship's engines.   I stayed in Vista Suite 4137 and it was hard to sleep at night while the ship was in motion.

I didn't have any vibration up on deck 8 back in September, but I totally feel ya on the deck 4 vibration. I ventured back there on deck 4 to iron my shirt last week and it was really noticeable on Legend.

That is good to know.  This would be on Deck 7.

The issue is, what one person sees as acceptable for vibration, you might not. There are only 10 of those suites available per sailing. Usually they are snapped up real fast. If you have the upgrade avail to get one of them, I would take it if you have never had one before. The balcony size is worth the extra money to me personally.

Agreed unless they've fixed it.  We had an aft extended balcony and it woke us up at night, my daughter was seasick to the point of kneeling before the porcelain god at least three times.  To me it was annoying more than anything else.  But it was annoying and I don't get annoyed easily.
