Hawaii Hotel Recommendation - close to cruise port

Hello!

 

Mom is taking a RCL cruise in April and needs a hotel for the day prior to departure.  Any  recommendations for something reasonable?  Any shuttle services to use?

Do some research over there, but if you ask, define what "reasonable " means to you. It means different things to different people, and as Hawaii is expensive, what you define as "reasonable" might not work.

From the airport to the hotel and then hotel to the ship, I'd look at Charley's Taxi or Johnny Cab. A flat rate cab should be $29 from HNL to Waikiki.

 

For hotels, Waikiki is the most reasonable place to stay. There is only one hotel easy walking distance to the pier and I wouldn't recommend it. It is important to know the budget though and if your mother has any special wants in a hotel.

You could try the Luana Waikiki which is an Aqua resort. Their prices vary in April…some nights are $179 per nt up to $239 per nt. You can check out their website. There are no hotel shuttles from the airport to Waikiki hotels but you can use Charley’s Taxi at a fixed rate of $29. I’ve stayed at the Luana before and have enjoyed our stay there.

There are over 80 hotels in Waikiki. It would help to know your nightly budget, how many people, and what month.

The closest hotel you will get to the port is the Ala Moana Hotel, it isn’t on the beach but does provide ocean views and Ala Moana Beach is about a 5 minute walk away.

We stayed in the Hilton Hawaiian Village 3 nights, which we booked through Celebrity.  They gave us a good deal.  Maybe your mom could check out her cruise line recommendation.
