Booking train in Spain

We will be flying onto Madrid and planning to take high speed train to Barcelona for a Splendor cruise.  Can anyone recommend the best site for booking the train or have any advice from experience on this or similar trip?

The train in Spain?  We mainly go by plane.  🙂

We were looking to do this a while back and we had searched tickets on https://www.renfe.com/es/en.

Check this very highly rated app.  Never got a chance to use it due to canceled cruise, but have heard good reports.

I used Trainline from France to Venice in 2018 and had no problems.

The train is great. We did Madrid/Barcelona just before Covid. The train was on time, there was plenty of room for our two large bags, and both stations are conveniently located in their respective cities. Make sure you don’t get on the one”local” train a day, which is like seven instead of 3 hours. 
 

We will be doing it again in April in reverse after disembarking in Barcelona.

I always buy my train tickets directly in the Spain train website Renfe

www.renfe.com

the sooner you can buy tickets, the cheaper they’ll be. Make sure you book an AVE train . You’ll be taking the train in Atocha station, arriving to Sants station in Barcelona
