“LIVE” from Enchantment of the Seas – March 05, 2022 (12Nts)

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone and good morning. Welcome to DAY 8 of "LIVE" from Enchantment of the Seas.

We have arrived at Bridgetown, Barbados. We approached the pier slowly at about 6:30am (AST)

There are other ships here today that I did not mention simply because these ships have no passengers. They are P&O Britannia and Cunard Queen Victoria. Britannia sails later this month and Queen Victoria starts next month.

I'm going to a beach somewhere here in Barbados today. It could be Brandon's Beach, or Paynes Bay Beach or maybe Boatyard Beach Club ( I heard this is a very good choice). The ship has been cleared, and there are no restrictions for vaccinated or unvaccinated passengers. Everyone is free to go where they want to go and do what they want to do.

All passengers must be back on board today by 3:30. We are scheduled to sail at 4 pm (AST)

Here are a few pics from our arrival.
Thanks for tuning in.

Hello everyone and good day. I'm back on the ship now after a wonderful day in Barbados.

The Cruise Compass this morning suggested vaccinated and unvaccinated protocols in regard to excursions and staying in port.(See image below)
I'm here to say that like yesterday, none of those guidelines were suggested or required. Once you're off the ship, you are free to do what you want.

I went to the Boatyard Beach Club and had a lovely time. The beach club pass is $30, but includes a lot of amenities that include the use of a beach chair and shared umbrella (while stocks last), ocean trampolines, Free Fall extreme ocean slide, dive platform and rope swinging from Pirate's Pier, Free boat tour ( inclusive snorkeling and life vest ) out to the shipwrecks and turtles for snorkeling and swimming. Free wifi, fresh water showers, restrooms and changing areas. Basketball nets, beach volleyball and bag toss.
Oh yeah . . .plus a welcome drink, and a free shuttle back to the ship.

I came back to the passenger terminal at the pier and spent a little while there. This is a fabulous terminal with many duty-free shops. It is very large and offers a large selection for all passengers. There were 6 ships docked today.

There are several places to eat and you can drink your libation of choice. After over 75 cruises, it may be one of the best passenger terminals I have seen.

I finally made it back to the ship via the free shuttle and had a bit to eat.  I watched a little news and had dinner. I try not to post this late.

Thanks for tuning in.

I was at that same Barbados beach in January.  Great spot!

There was a bunch of shops in the terminal closed due to omicron.

And the outside area to get your excursion bus was crazy packed with people since everyone had to take a ship excursion or private taxi to get out of port area.

Looks much calmer today.

What were the rules/guidelines in Barbados regarding masks? It looks like most if not all people were wearing them in the cruise terminal shopping area.  Thanks for all the information.  We walked to the Boatyard Beach Club when we were there last.  Wondering if we could still do that or if we would get stopped.  We also love Brandon's beach and are hoping we can go on our own.

Masks are still required in Barbados when you're indoors. This will include any stores or retail establishment. Mattress are also required for taxi or shuttle operations.

Brandon speech does not charge for admission. The Boatyard Beach club does charge a fee that you pay when you enter.

I think autocorrect just pulled a fast one on you! 😂

I loved Barbados when we stopped there on Serenade back in 2017. I really hope to get the chance to visit again someday.

That's interesting; I didn't realise you were using that. I bet it's way easier than typing on the tiny keyboard on your phone, though, even if it does play up occasionally. I need to try it someday.

Hello everyone and Good Morning. Welcome to DAY 9 of "LIVE" on Enchantment of the Seas. We have arrived in Basseterre, St. Kitts just a few minutes ago (9:45). Our scheduled time here is from  10:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

We are docked today at the original Port Zante Cruise Pier, which is very nice. We will have easy access to the Porte Zante duty-free shops here at the pier.

A new pier was recently built, and that is where Celebrity Millennium and  Azamara Quest are currently docked.

Enchantment of the Seas should be cleared for passengers to go ashore by around 10:30 a.m.

I should be going ashore by no later than 11:00 a.m.
It seems that I was able to secure a pretty severe case of sunburn on my arms yesterday. Due to that, I will be staying out of the sun today and will walk around the pier area and attempt to stay in the shade.

I'm sure there is a pharmacy close by where I can get some Aloe lotion. NOTE TO RADIO "When you bring sunblock make sure that you apply it before you go out in the sun" That would have made sense. . .

Thanks for tuning in. . .

We pick up the pilot just a mile or two away from the pier.

So to go to the Beach Club in Barbados

did you book with Royal Caribbean

The beach looks amazing.

Thank you

I did not book with Royal or the Beach Club. I just took a taxi to the Beach Club and walked up to the main entrance and paid my fee.

Hello everyone good day.  I am back on Enchantment of the Seas after a delightful day in St. Kitts. Well, actually I had a delightful day in Port Zante, Basseterre.

Yes, I never left the port shopping area. If you were thinking I was able to get some Aloe in a pharmacy or convenience store I would ask you to please think again. I was able to have multiple selections of aloe products in the DUFRY duty free store. It went something like this:  "Hello, I don't need any colognes or perfumes or alcohol or tobacco, but I would like to have some aloe lotion for sunburn".

"Sure Mr Radio, that is very popular and we have a large selection. Just over here."

Thanks go to a Cruise Critic fan who suggested I go to that specific store.

I hadn't remembered how many shops this port had.  I would say at least a hundred and fifty if not more individual locations. It is a lot of walking but all stores have a powerful air conditioning system taking care of customers.

Port Zante had a large food court with about eight or nine different food locations and Bar that also offered a beautiful swimming pool. Yes if you're a customer there you can take a dip no worries. I had a nice lunch there but did not take a dip. . . maybe next time.

Cruise director Bobby suggested that all passengers should rest up today because there will be an extreme amount of activities that he hopes that we can attend and participate in.

Enchantment of the Seas just portway from the Pier slowly in Basseterre, St. Kitts for 3 days at sea while sailing home. I know that I will be looking for some Vitality Spa specials.

Thanks for tuning in. . .
